Why I want to be Admin
Edit: I realized here I am telling you all why you should vote for me, and you know nothing about me!
My name is Sarah, I'm 23 years old (almost 24) and I live in Canada. I am going to school studying to become a social worker. I'm addicted to emojis, puns, and Town of Salem, where no word of a lie, I met most of my friends on here. I like writing, drawing crappy pictures (I suck at art), and living on VP. Seriously though, I'm renting a condo in the "Game" section. I'm super easy to talk to and get along with. I work in an ice cream store (It's the best job ever. I get free ice cream). I'm bad at telling people about myself lol
First and foremost, being Admin is a huge responsibility, one that would take time, effort, patience, levelheadedness, an unbiased opinion, and a clear understanding of how the site works. These are all qualities that I know I possess. So I bet you're asking yourself âWhy should I vote for Sarah?â And at first, I didn't know myself actually. The thought of being admin never even crossed my mind at first. And then I started thinking. Thinking about what I could bring to the VP community. Thinking about the changes I could bring, and I knew that I wanted to help make this community a better place. We need an admin who will be around for a while, who's willing to put a lot of effort into the community, and gets along well with the community. We need an admin who is easy to talk to, and I'm definitely your gal in that department. So what qualifies me to be admin?
I could ramble on and on about my qualifications, but I think it would be easier to get to the point in bullet form:
- I have been here for 2 years now, and I know the community fairly well. Whether we have talked or not, chances are I still know you in some way shape or form. I'm a very sociable person
- Combined with my experience from GSM, I have done various team activities, including the event department, mod training, and being in the fashion department.
- IÂ have taken initiative with NT and have been doing all I can to help make NT a great team to be on
- I always offer my help to teams that need it while asking for nothing in return. I do this because I love to help out and do whatever I can for the VP community
- I have a few years of leadership programs under my belt including conflict resolution.
- I am the president of the LGBT club at my college, and have single handedly been running the group for a year now.
- I am completely unbiased. I am not afraid to let my friends know they are doing something wrong.
- I am studying to become a Social Worker, giving me the knowledge and understanding to work with some of the more touchy subjects on VP.
These are the changes I would hope to see. I am aware some of these are beyond my power, but I would still like to see these ideas implemented one day.
-Update the rules for teams. Teams should have an appointed leader and members should be as active as possible. Each team will be looked at individually, and the rules will be adjusted to satisfy the needs of the team. This will include, but not limited to, introducing the 3 strike rule for inactive members. (This will need to be discussed more with the teams before implementing)
-Updating the mod hiring process.pplications would be submitted, and potential candidates would undergo bootcamp. This idea is taken from GSM, but has proven fairly effective in the past. After a few weeks of training, the admin and current mods will evaluate based on performance. Those chosen will be put on a probation period. I would also like to do evaluations for moderator every 3 months or so, to make sure they are doing their job correctly and effectively.
- I would like to gather more input from the community that could be sent to Kim. Kim doesn't have the chance to see everything on the site, so maybe a monthly news letter of sorts could be sent to her outlining what the community thinks should be changed or worked on. I plan to keep in contact with Kim as much as possible.
- VP needs new games. Bottom line is, the games are either boring, or people have already mastered them. We need to keep things spiced up. I'd like to take input from the community about what sort of game they'd like to see, and relay it to Kim and try to make it a possibility.
- A better system for keeping track of past forum posts. There have been too many times where I've lost a forum because it got buried under a barrage of other forms. Also add the option of deleting forums off your ârecently posted inâ section, if you don't plan to go back to said forum. It's just a lot of unnecessary clutter.
I don't want this to be a popularity contest. I want people to vote for the person they think would be best for the admin position. Sure, everyone wants to see their friend be admin, but I don't think people understand how difficult this job can be. So please, don't just vote for your friend, vote for the person you think is the most qualified.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! If anything important comes up, I will add it to the first post. I know I've probably forgotten something. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and good luck to my fellow competitors!
