Good evening VP! As you know, Kaj and Kim are looking for a new admin to secure this site. There's only 8 candidates left for the Admin position, but many players ask themselves; Who am I gonna vote for?

Therefore we are gonna do a Q/A with the Admin candidates to help you with the decision; Who am I gonna vote for?

It's gonna work like this: FT is gonna ask questions regarding the Admin position that the 8 candidates are gonna answer. The candidates are: @Photosynthesis @Tezzica

NB:

- Remember, since the candidates live in different time zones, not all of them are available to answer questions at the same time

I want to be admin for vp because I love the community here and I want to do as much as I can to help both the community and the website flourish at it's full potential, in both the social aspect and in other areas of the site. It's rare to come across a forum this diverse and active nowadays, especially one that's used as an integral part of a game. I think it would be a great opportunity to improve the communication between members and the "higher-up"s so to say. I'm active and have been ever since I first joined the site, 2 and a half years ago. I do well under pressure. I communicate well. I can communicate with Kim in her native tongue, which could probably diminish some miscommunication and be a little more clear. I can be a bridge between the active members of the community and the ones running the site. I do find myself to be respectful when communicating and do not ignite fights and do not take sides whne put face to face with a confrontation or a situation. I do believe that I do my tasks well and I can manage my time well

Question 3: What do you want to achieve on VP as Admin? Safe community? More updates? New games?
Communication! I want to improve the communication so that more ideas of the users can be taken into consideration or so that their complains can be heard! I do want to make it a safer community

Due to a lot of the stuff I already do relies a lot on Kim's support since she's already Admin, but If I was Admin myself I would be able to handle a lot of stuff without her help and be able to react quicker on problems (like codes getting leaked in forums, giving TO's and stuff like the entire hacker incident) To be able to help the teams more efficiently.
That's what started my interest in being an Admin, but that's not the only reason why I would like to be Admin. While I have considered applying for MOD positions before, I have never been one but sometimes I wished to be one cause no action was taken when needed or the current ones are 'corrupt' (GSM too)

I'm currently making a rough base for a thread I plan on making based on Kim's advice to do so, so I'll list a few:
Im quick at getting things done, I enjoy helping people and I usually respond quickly and is very knowledgeable about a lot of things. Im dedicated too and have a lot of free time due to no social life whatsoever.

Question 3: What do you want to achieve on VP as Admin? Safe community? More updates? New games?
Well I don't think the upcoming Admin or any of the previous one's job is to suggest games or anything, since we have no say in all of that - that's entirely on Kim and Kaj. Tho what I would like to do is help improve the site, like fixing the translation errors everywhere (which I already bugged Kim about) and hopefully be able to help the community with whatever they need and make it safe and stop the recent leak of codes.
I hope to be someone the community feels comfortable with (even if they don't like me) and that they can rely on me.

As many people know on this site, especially the older and longer going members it's been a dream of mine to become admin for this site. At the time however it was because I wanted the status, a badge collector and after our first VP picked admin Alana was selected it made me think. My soul being has been to help people, to listen to people and to give guidance towards a new era for VirtualPopstar. In my eyes right now, VP is at a standstill to where the usual activities happen everyday with the usual people who are stepping forward to make the site a better place.
I'd formally like to thank those, the team members, the non-badged members and allow them to have a stronger voice in the community. I would want to system where people are recognised for the good deeds that they do and where people are able to voice their opinions within a secure environment whilst keeping to the rules of VP.
I want to grow this community and make it stronger and also take in ideas that are well requested by the people of VP and hopefully get those implemented within the game.
Without our members, without us, there is no VirtualPopstar.

Question 2: Which qualities do you have as a person that will help VP and the community?
I have been a member of the English VP community since the second day running as well as a first gen designer along with Dani. Before this, I was a moderator on the GSM Cosmo before the server closed. Going through the Mod Boot Camp which was a fantastic experience.
At the moment I'm actually based in a customer service role within the Department of Work and Pensions. By doing this role, I would say it's been me a lot more of a step to be able to understand people and become more neutral within situations, where as before I would pick a side and argue with it.
I am fairly active on the site even if it's not in the forums and am approachable also.
Along with this which may be classed as a quality? I'm also one of the oldest members of VP, turning 24 in February.

Frankly all of the above and more.
However as an Admin there are actives that we are not able to do, however we can suggest . I want to be the bridge before the community and Kim/Kaj so we can push forwards with updates to make this site a better place for all ages. With the new VP App in progress, a lot of updates that will be going into the update will also be coming here such as the tagging which I had suggested back in 2014.
New games? As much as I am for new games, it also costs developing money which with the new app being made may not be possible as we'd like to think. However I'd give credit to the Event team, Social media and the Forum team for keeping games and events available in replacement for games on the site. On a personal level I prefer this. People are able to join in together, have fun together and make new friends rather then fighting about who's at the top spot for Snake.
As many of you are aware we've had a hacking problem as of late and codes being leaked. I'd like to implement a safer way for members to be able to access accounts and even had a safety email for password resets. So once a password has been reset an email is sent to the original maker of that account to make them aware and to even be able to revert the password back and 'block' the account for a short period of time for safety measures.
- To add to this, maybe make it so once you've confirmed an email address, it's locked in so you are able to change it without an email being sent to the original email to confirm it's okay to change.

A lot of the updates people want to see can't really be achieved by a "Volunteer Admin". The individual can nag and preach to Kaj and Kim but at the end of the day it really is Kaj' decision(since Kim said she had to get approval from him for StarTalk). I do need to point out the community, even if the people feel comfortable with one another, can't really be safe without the help of a programmer at the moment. There's a huge flaw in the security of the accounts that have their account labelled private for not logged in users. You can still find out their name through banners and quoted comments. In addition, you can also log into Virtual Popstar with omitting the last digit on your password so theoretically you do have two passwords. SO in theory if your password is "rainbows7" your password is consider a lot weaker if you omit that number since its a straightforward word. Fantastic, right?
