Hey guys,
It's time for our yearly moderator search to begin! The squad is looking for anywhere between 2-5 users to add to our team this year. Before we get to the app, I know a lot of people have been wondering what exactly being a moderator entails.
Being a moderator is a constant job that requires a lot of extra time and commitment to be put into the website. Your daily job is to respond to any reports that you may receive and decide what punishment you deem correct fits. Whether that is writing out a warning, time out, or just simply closing it. In addition to doing that you have a constant job of monitoring the threads and shouts for anything that may be inappropriate. As well as dealing with any situations that you may be mailed, which can be a variety but some of our most common ones can be seen in our scenario part of the application. Teamwork is something we don't take lightly because you will be working with all of the mod squad every day when it comes to dealing with any problems that may arise. Remember, things get really intense, and you will probably face the most criticism out of all the teams on the site. There has even been death threats sent to mods before. If you don't think you can handle it, please be honest and don't apply. The more extreme side is rare, but we do want to give a heads up so you know what you're getting yourselves into. I hope this has cleared up any confusion and answers your questions! If you have any more please feel free to post below.
In order to apply you have to have had no warnings in the past 3months or a TO in the past 6months and be 16+ years old. If you are unsure about what punishments you have had you can always mail a mod and we will check!
When you send your application to the modsquad account, make the topic look like this:
Topic (Subject): Mod App - (Your) Username
So if Kim wanted to apply for mod and filled out an app, her subject would be Mod App - Kim
You have until January 29th at 12AM GMT (January 28th 6pm CST) to submit your application!

Scenarios:
1. Squidward Tentacles frantically messages you and tells you that Mr. Krabs, "the greedy barnacle head," scammed him out of an item from the Capricorn set. Mr. Krabs swears that he gave Squidward the item, but he is just being grouchy as always and trying to cause trouble. Squidward does not have the item in his wardrobe, but neither does Mr. Krabs. How do you respond? What steps would you take to figure it out who's lying? If Mr. Krabs is scamming, what would you do? If Squidward is lying, what would you do?
2. Blair, a close friend of yours, messages you and tells you she wants Serena off the team immediately, how do you handle this? Blair and Serena have also always had off and on drama inside of the team forums and can’t seem to get past it. Blair says she also suspects Serena is leaking information about her to gossip girl, who is telling everyone. How do you handle this situation?
3. Ms. Piggy makes a thread in the general forum calling Kermit the Frog "a lying, cheating #$%$#" Kermit responds calling her a diva and a jealous #$#$%@% that is just upset because they broke up and he has already moved on to a Kim K look-alike named Ms. Hoggy. By the time a report is made and you log on to see it, both of them have said some very cruel and hostile words to another. You also look into the shouts to find that over half of the active shouts are a part of their fight. How would you handle it?
4. Barbie is a new member of VP, but she has not won many friends. The dolls from Monster High follow her in every thread that she makes or posts in to make fun of her. They call her a basic b many times in the threads and also claim that she is too much of a perfect little goody two shoes. One of them has even gone as far to demand that she leave the site and hand over her Dreamhouse or else. What do you do in this situation?
5. Regina George was given a warning for denying Gretchen Wieners (whose father is the inventor of toaster strudel) the opportunity of wearing a pair of really expensive white gold hoops. She also messaged you saying that you are a home-schooled jungle freak who is a less hot version of her and that all of the moderators (especially you) should stop trying to make fetch happen because it's not going to happen. She was finally placed on timeout for distributing copies of the burn book to all of VP. However, you have seen her side account, named Glen Coco, on the site four times since the timeout was given. How should this be handled?
6. Bella Goth was called a THOTpocket on VP by the Caliente sisters and Don Lothario. Instead of only having drama in VP messages and threads, the drama continued when Mortimer Goth and Bella Goth joined forces to retaliate by direct messaging threats to Don and the sisters on thesimsresource.com. The sisters and Don then returned to VP and posted screenshots of what was said for all of the public to see. In the thread, the Goths claim to have again received messages from the Caliente family and Don Lothario that were less than friendly. What is your course of action when something occurs on VP but then continues off of VP? How would you handle this altogether?
7. You return to vp after a two hour break offline to be greeted with 7 tagged messages and 15 reports waiting for you. When you try to look into what has happened you realize the thread has been deleted. While looking at the reports you realize a fight had gone down in a controversial thread about women getting plastic surgery to modify their looks. You notice in a report the user Cesare has tagged the user Bianca in his post saying Bianca had the the fakest boobs on all of gsm #fakeB$#$%. The next report deals with the user Bianca’s reply saying that Cesare is a jealous B$@#$ and that she is stealing all his clothes from his closet with Cesare’s final comment saying she better go back to Dr X because she might have sprung a leak after 6 years. How do you take on this situation when you have no thread to look back on?
