of picking mods that made it take so long?
what were the applicants judged on? why did they get picked over everyone else?

about the boot camp thing: people have been saying that there wasn't gonna be a bootcamp at first? so those who'd been picked would have just been badged right away? what???

idk about the first part, but originally i think it was to be like it was in the past recruiting which was that they work one on one with an older mod in a mentoring kinda situation. but the idea of having a bootcamp was discussed so they changed it because a lot of people said they'd like to have one

I'll copy and paste from the thread

These members were chosen by timezone, languages spoken, general behavior, and their application
Many of you have been wondering what has been taking so long? We have been planning the training process as well as letting Jess find her footing and be apart of it too. We have also been waiting on Kim to give the go ahead. These things take time but thanks to those of you who were patient and understanding.

As for the bootcamp we were just going to do mentoring but we decided from recent events and suggestion we'd have one

what exactly were they judged on (in the application)? what answers were they looking for? i wanna know....everything.

When I applied and got in there were a huge amount of applications that were sent in. So I'm sure that took up a decent amount of time in itself.

When picking out people from the applications they were looking for timezone (hoping to have people online all the time), languages spoken (if they were able to speak dutch to communicate better with our admins, even better), overall behaviour (have any of our candidates recieved and warnings , TO's or known for other forms of inappropriate behaviours), and their application (their answers to the scenarios given .. for example what they would do in the scenario if they were in the mod position). The last two points being the key aspects of selections.

As for how long it took, I don't know the exact because it wasnt my place to go in and ask the specifics, but Blink mentioned a few examples and I know for a fact that Kim can be a pain and a half to get solid answers from.

As for the Bootcamp, it was mentioned a lot that people liked the thing GSM did (I forget what it was) so I guess that's why they decided to go with that method. I did that on GSM and it was well ran. Though, things like that do take a lot of planning.

What she said ^

Scenarios play the biggest part when judging applications, how well and correctly they are answered. We took time figuring out things. Some of us wrote pros and cons for each app and we even made a big timezone list where we picked a certain amount from each one so hopefully all time is covered now. Languages were also big this round

Oh and for it taking so long, the community had a lot of bigger problems we had to deal with, waiting for things to be approved by kim. Voting from everyone and having jess be included. Then jess wanted to announce but she went on vacation for a week for her bday. Jess needed to figure out how to be a mod and deal with things before we could bring it new ones that also aren't sure how to work things. Things just kept happening basically which pushed it back.

And with Tess being automatically placed on the team, I agree with that 100%.
The people in the bootcamp are excellent excellent excellent choices. I can see Tess being accepted automatically because she is fully qualified for the position. She doesn't need training as she's already been a mod and knows the process of things and how they are handled. It's just like in the work force.

Because if it's anything MOD related the newest VP trend is to turn it into an unnecessary bitchfest.

I'm not salty Tezzica got to be a mod ahead of time. She's already gone through the training and knows what to do. I know some, if not most, think she should have gone through the bootcamp too, but she's already had the training and I don't think anything will be new to her. As for whether she can handle being a mod and her personal life is something that can be discussed in the future if activity decreases.

I'm really excited and absolutely terrified at the same time :p
