You don't need to be on tour to perform. What I usually do is focus on the countries that give you a bonus

No worries! And I always do the max number of performances possible in a certain country before I move on to the next one, but that's just because I think it's easier + it affects the condition of my transport less. You can also do performances without going on a tour.

If you complete a tour, you can earn extra pd and fans. With manager you can do two tours every 24 hours instead of one tour every 24 hours, There's no difference between performing without tours and performing while on tour. However you must perform on the countries of the tour for you to complete your tour. 

However if you have manager, your fan (and pd) earning is boosted by 20%. Performing in Hollywood, Milan, Paris, Hong-Kong, and New York also give a 10% boost. 

The ping doesn't work unless it's highlighted like this @Raggy
