Someone teach me how to style

I'm bad at executing layers.
Someone gave me a layered makeover once and I actually looked rich despite not having money lmao. How do I make my avatar have the quality of a person with a diamond membership and a manager?

This blog I made for a competition has some of my tips in it ? :3

www.en.virtualpopstar.com/home/profile?user=Quinzelle&show=blog&id=13392

though some of the pictures are broken now, it's only the odd one at the bottom.

The way I worked my way up through layering is I started with make-up. Make-up is my favourite thing to combo because there's a lot more freedom than there can be with the other categories, as the items are all so diverse there.
Start with make-up, then try moving into hair or hats. Those are the easiest imho to combo :3

My big one for blending layers is, ofc, sticking to similar colours. If I think "I'd like this hair to be bigger" then I filter my wardrobe by colour and go through the similar looking colours.
It also helps to know the filters well, because some items are not filtered correctly (e.g. white hair on VP can mean many things so you need to look through the White AND Grey filters to maybe find the item you're looking for).

Anytime :3 glad I could help.

It's largely trial and error and sometimes luck x3
but I'm also really impatient. If an outfit doesn't come together in less than 15 minutes, I'm out haha.

another tip I forgot: look at other people's layering. If you go in their wardrobe (if it's open) and filter their wardrobe by "What I'm Wearing", it'll show you the items they are wearing and the order they've layered them in. Sometimes, it's a good way to find basic pieces that would work in multitudes of combos :3

I think there was an old combo forum where people shared their layers and that was really helpful too
(I swear it was your forum @Kaeris  @Echoes  ??)
