I usually just play minesweeper for a bit and that's it for me then

no, just empty the whole field without clicking the fields
the flags are to help you visualise where not to click, but when using the flags, you won't be getting that good of a score because of the time
also, the insane times are mostly luck and just random clicking patterns :d
I once planned on making a few stats on me playing minesweeper
like, with how long it took and what the final screen looked like, how often I at average clicked until I failed
because they way I play it, I only finish about every 20th field and then mostly with a time between 16 and 24 seconds on average
