"Although I always knew you were a keeper.", He smiled and took a bite out of the apple he had grabbed from the counter.

Rowan felt uneasy to say the least. Dr Lacerta seemed amused. 
“Of course we have. We’ve been watching you. The both of you”, he said and took another bite out of the apple. Rowan swallowed.
”What did you plant inside my neck?” She asked.
”It’s for your well-being”, was all he said.
”Somehow I doubt it”, Rowan said. Lacerta rolled his eyes and headed towards the door.
”Well, we aren’t gonna do any more tests tonight so might as well get some rest. Trust me, you’ll need it.” He said in a way that sent chills down Rowan’s spine.
”Monty can show you the way”, he said before leaving. Rowan was confused.
