Winnie let everybody leave the car first as she took the keys from Kirk, just taking a moment to sit in her car. It was scary how fast things could happen, how fast a life could be taken away. One minute Grandma Kat was here and the next .. she was gone and she would never see her again, or well, until the next life. She let out a breath as she put her head in her hands, not wanting to have to deal with the sadness she was feeling. Why did this sort of shit always happen to her? First with her father leaving, then her mothers unexpected early death and now Grandma Kat. It seemed as if everybody she ever loved or had a close connection with was leaving her to deal with the horrible world by herself. ~~~ Kirk drove as fast as he could to get home, the silence becoming a little uncomfortable after the first five minutes. As they reached the apartment, he stopped the engine, Damon and Robyn got out first as quick as they could. But Kirk stayed for a moment as he handed the keys back to Winnie, "This is normal y'know, the grieving process. Don't be afraid to let it out," he told her, touching her shoulder tentatively before he left her alone. Sympathy wasn't really his thing so he thought he had dealt with the situation to the best of his ability. Inside the house, he blew out a sigh as he ran a hand through his hair, "I don't think sh even heard what I said back there," he said with a shake of his head as he made his way to the fridge. Even at a time like this, he was hungry.
