It was true, she barley liked other men because they either were nothing like mitch or they just weren't Mitch. She couldn't forget him no matter how hard she tried. She looked up when Mitch's head whipped round ''What's wrong?'' she asked, then realising what was up when she heard Blake. She groaned and then stood up. ''Blake, I'm not yours. I never have been. We're just friends who need the company of someone else. please don't be like this.'' she said softly, trying to not make him even more angry. He had gotten angry at her once before and it wasn't nice.

Alec sighed and nodded ''I guess there's nothing I can do about it now, it was years ago. I just wish I had been able to watch her grow up. She's still young but I missed her early years.'' he sighed and stood up. He cracked a smile when she said he could tell her that he was her dad, he was excited to finally get to be a dad. ''Oh. How come you came here though, I mean I'm sure there are plenty of other places to go to waste time.''

Amy nodded, not being able to imagine how he felt, as she had been there the whole time and so had bonded very strongly with Chloe. "I guess not.." She echoed, wishing there was a way she could make it up to him. The smile that filled his face made her feel a little better though, "You're probably right, call it a moment of madness - though it was you or my waste of space parents.." She admitted, as she'd recently fallen out with them.

Alec bit his lip ''Rough time for you lately then I guess?'' he said, if she only had him or her parents to go to. ''Look I'll help you out as long as you let me see Chloe. Just please don't take her away again. I've missed out on so much, I don't want to miss out on more.'' he said as he stood up and walked to a cupboard at the bottom of the stairs. He grabbed her a towel ''Go have a shower, you look freezing. I'll look after Chloe and explain to her that I'm her dad.''

Mitch moved towards the edge of his seat, feeling as if he should step in and speak up, yet was still quiet. The things this guy said truly shocked him, and didn't see how someone like Ava deserved any of it. Part of him worried that stepping in would make thing worse, but this guy seriously needed to know when to stop.

Blake still wasn't prepared to back down, pulling a face at her as she made all these ridiculous arguments. "Stop lying to yourself." He responded, in disbelief that she was denying in all. He then laughed yet again, "Can't remember, or won't remember?" He asked cruelly, looking dead at Mitch as he said it.

Amy nodded slowly, "You could say that.." She replied, sighing slightly. Her eyes looked down, but she smiled as he agreed to help them out, "Thank you.. And of course, whatever you want." She agreed quietly, looking back up to him thankfully. She nodded again as he passed her a towel, and headed off as she knew the way all too well.

So stop waiting around for him when you can have a guy like me that will love you and care for you and look after you.'' he said to her. He looked at Mitch ''Do you enjoy hurting her when you pretend that you can't remember how you feel?''

Alec walked into the living room and sat next to Chloe. ''Hey Chloe. Enjoy your ice cream?'' he asked. He looked down at her and bit his lip. ''So.. you know how I said I was your daddy? Well that's true, I am your daddy. Mummies and daddies don't always live together and mummy lived with another man who was your daddy for a while. But your real daddy is me.'' he said, giving her a smile, hoping she would sort of understand. He wasn't good with these things at all.

Mitch stood up, he'd had it with this now, and he looked over to Ava, "No, it's fine, it's you that doesn't deserve it." He told her, before looking over at Blake. "You really need to shut your mouth, perhaps you'd had more success with women if you stopped treating them like this." He said, stepping a little closer to him, suddenly feeling very protective of Ava. "Of course I don't!" He exclaimed, pulling a face, "She means a hell of a lot to me, and she's the one I want to get better for." He told him, trying to show how he cared for her way more than he did,

Chole was curled up on the sofa, her bowl now discarded on the table next to her. She looked up as Alec entered, curious as to what the grown ups had gone off to talk about. She nodded and smiled, "Yeah, thank you!". As he spoke to her she looked at him a little sideways, struggling to wrap her head around it, "So we left Jack's house because you're my Daddy?" She asked, straightening it out in my mind. A smile came on to her face, "Ok then! I think I like you better, he shouted too much," She stated simply, only sort of understanding, as she looked back at the tv.

He bit his lip ''Er, I suppose you could say that.'' he said as he gave her a small smile. ''He shouted? Well there won't be any shouting here, princess, I can promise you that. I think you and your mummy will be staying here for a little bit. Have you and mummy had dinner?''

Mitch bit the inside of his lip as he said this, hurt by it, as it was a harsh reminder of why he was like this in the first place. He didn't say anything in response to it though, simply pulling a face, unsure of what he even would say. It had caused him to become angrier however, and his fists were now slightly clenched. "Why in the hell would I wanna do something like that?" He asked, at the suggestion he was stringing her along, "No way, I'm staying right here. You can't love her, not like I do - It's more and more every day now."

Chloe looked back at him, returning his smile, and nodded as confirmation. "All the time." She shrugged, not really thinking much of it, but smiled as he said there'd be none, as she loathed it. The little girl then shook her head, "Nope, Jack was cooking, but then there was shouting and he made us leave." She explained, recounting it with child like accuracy. "We've just been driving."

Ava shook her head angrily at what Blake was saying, he was being so horrible to Mitch and she couldn't do anything about it. As she listened to Mitch reply she just wanted to throw her arms around him and hug him. The way he was acting and what he was saying showed that he really did care about her. She wished thag Blake would just leave. She was about to tell him to get out when he grabbed her arms. "Ow! Blake you're hurting me!"

Alec frowned "he made yoh leave? Well that's not very nice of him. But at least there will be no more shouting." He said as he got up. "Come on, let's go make some dinner for when your mummy is done in the shower." He said as he led her into the kitchen. He was pretty good cook so he was going to make her whatever she wanted "What do you want to eat?" He asked softly as he opened the fridge.

Mitch stepped closer again as he said this, "Watch me. Now she's told you already: Get the fuck out out." He demanded, growing quickly impatient with his bad attitude. It was when he put his hand on her however that made him snap, and he grabbed him arm, doing his best to pull him off Ava, "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

Chloe nodded again, feeling comforted by the way Alec was acting, it felt much safer here. She then sprang up, smiling, "Alright!" She replied, following behind him to the kitchen. Her eyes glanced around the fridge for a moment, thinking, "Lasagne?" She suggested, knowing it was a favourite of her mother's and herself.

Ava's eyes widened when she heard and saw the punch that Blake landed on Mitch. "Don't. You. Ever. Do. That. Again!!" She yelled angrily as she wedged herself in between Mitch and Blake. She reached for Mitch's hand and held onto it tightly. "Blake if you don't leave I'm going to call the police. Please don't ever, ever come back." She said as she took a step back closer to Mitch, scared that he would try to hurt her again. (You go back to being Blake now? Thinking he would leave soon maybe?)

Alec smiled "Lasagne sounds perfect. I know your mummy loved it when I use to make this for her." He said as he grabbed out all the stuff they would need. He wished his hands and then got out pans and other stuff like that "Would you like to help me make this?" He asked her, smiling over at her as he began to weigh out all the differnet stuff that they would need to be able to make the lasagne.

Mitch took a step back as he felt himself get hit, and reached his hand to his nose, seeing blood on his hand as he pulled it away again. He stood back up, and raised a brow at Blake, "She's made it pretty clear that's not the case," He replied, his fists clenched as he wanted to retaliate so bad, but worried it'd get out of hand and that Ava could get hurt. Mitch glanced down as felt a hand in his, and smiled to himself - it felt so right. He looked up at her as she threatened with the police, and glared at Blake, "You heard her, get gone." He chipped in, praying that he'd finally give up and go.

Blake pulled a face, noticing how Ava had gone right to his side, and that they were now hand in hand. "How pathetic!" He spat, feeling envious of the way she'd stood up straight away for this washed up junkie, but not for him. Although he wouldn't admit it the police threat had put him off a little, though he still pressed on and looked right at Ava, "Come on honey, one last chance.. Are you sure you want to shack up with some junkie that doesn't even have the bottle to hit back? Think of everything you'd miss out on.."

Chloe grinned as he accepted the suggestion, "Used to? Are you and Mummy not friends anymore?" She asked out of the blue, her mind not realising quite how it all worked. She nodded enthusiastically at the suggestion, as she loved helping out with cooking at home, it always seemed to make her Mum happy.

Chloe nodded, feeling satisfied with this answer, as she figured that being a grown up was difficult. She then laughed at this, and nodded. She scooped the meat out of the packet and placed it in the pan, repeating this a few times as the packet was large, and she only had small hands.
