Ryan hadn't heard anyone call him that yet and it made his heart practically stop. He was a dad now, it wasn't just some sort of age joke he actually had a little baby girl who was going to grow up and rely on him. "I guess that comes with the new job title aye," he teased. He heard the dramatic sigh but didn't see any of the faces she was making as he was focused on making his coffee and once the kettle was boiled he filled up the mug and gave it a good stir. "Biting ankles? now that could be interested" he laughed as he turned around to look at her, "good girl," he teased before lifting his mug to his lips and taking a much needed sip, "but hopefully she will keep out of our hair tomorrow."

Mila practically felt the whole pause in his body and she was considering hunting down a defibrillator to restart his system, but luckily he turned around and she dropped her arms so that he could walk back into the living room. She'd been so distracted talking to him she hadn't made herself a hot chocolaye sk she just grabbed a can of Pepsi from the fridge, though paused in her tracks when he called her a good girl and she just pulled a face at him, as if to say are we really going there? "I hope so.. but if she's really not comfortable I'm not going to force it."

Ryan made his way back to the living room with his mug held tightly in his grasp, this was going to be the only way he could stay awake for another hour or so to talk to Mila without completely crashing out. He gave her a cheeky wink before sitting himself down and taking a sip from the piping hot mug but was careful not to burn his poor tongue in the process. "thats fair," he said simply giving a little shrug. "we should be getting the dna results back by Sunday or Monday I think the doctor said so I won't have long to wait for some answers which is a blessing."

"Oh that's good then, that's pretty quick, at least you haven't gotta think about it for too long." She sat herself down next to him and crossed her legs over, picking up a cushion and hugging it as she relaxed into the sofa, glancing over st the tv. "And I guess.. if she is yours then we should make the guest room into a nursery or something." She looked up at him, smiling. She was really trying to get on board with the baby idea.

Charlotte was thankful that Ray was at least trying to cover up how awkward this was in front of Robbie, she moved off of the sofa and over to her little brother, "well one day we can get one, that sound good?" she said with a small smile, "now come on its way past your bedtime mister." she slid her hand into his and went back into his bedroom where she got him all tucked in, "I love you," she whispered before shutting the door and coming back into the living room, "I am so sorry about that," she said with an awkward laugh.

Before Ryan had been desperate for this kid not to be his because it would make his life so much easier but after holding her in his arms he had grown attached. "yeah thats true, I don't want to go all soft for a kid and then find out she's not even mine." he said with a small laugh. Truth was he was terrified of what those results were going to show but he got pulled out of his thoughts as Mila suggested decorating the spare room and he looked up into her eyes, "that would be amazing," he smiled, "I'll need your sense of style to help make it look a little more exciting than the rest of my simplistic home"

Mila let her hand dive back itnonthe bag of sweets and she pulled out a handful, shoving them all into her mouth and chomping in them. She couldn't give him sassy comments when her mouth was full with snacks. "Do you reckon she looks like you?" She asked, leaning back and pulling her feet up and tucking them beneath her, she carefully rested against him, making sure she didn't knock the cup of coffee. But then he called it his home, and it felt like a little spark left her but she tried not to let it show. He still thought of it as his, and she was just some lodger. "Yeah, we could make it cute." She agreed.

Ryan took another sip from his mug, letting the warm liquid fill him up and hopefully keep him awake just that little bit longer. "It's hard to say, all babies sort of look the same you know? but I just have this weird gut feeling that she is mine. That might just be because I was there when she was born I don't know." he let out a sigh before downing the rest of his coffee and setting the mug down. "I'm glad you want to help me, it'll be good for us to have a project to work on together. plus this place needs more of your creative input."

Mila nodded slowly. She had no idea what he was on about, she wasn't planning on any kind of babies for at least another ten years.. but then would Ryan feel like he was too old? That was the only problem, maybe he wouldn't want to be an older dad. "I guess it's just a waiting game until then." She waited until he put the duo down and then nudged his arm with her head until he lifted it and she rested against him, biting down on her thumb nail gently as she looked over at the tv. "I dunno, I think your house is just fine as it is."

Ryan could tell she was losing interest in the baby talk so he tried to reign it back in, he just didn't really have anyone else to talk to about all of this and he hadn't even told his parents that Kelly was pregnant, he just let them know they had split. Lifting his arm up he let her snuggle in close to him but his eyebrow raised at her comment. "I mean the roof is over our heads so its definitely fine, but I'd like it to feel like our home." he leaned his head back against the pillow and his eyes were definitely beginning to betray him.

He was missing her already but this was right for them and it was mainly for her sake, for her to recover. He only hoped she was maybe missing him too. He pulled up his messages and hesitated, was it too soon? No, that was a stupid way to think. Good night baby girl, sleep well. Xxx he sent to her.

Mila was really trying her best to be patient about this whole baby shenanigans but it was hard when her boyfriend literally felt like he was being stolen from her to live another life as a happy family with his ex. She couldn't let that go just yet. He'd picked up on her comment and she was determined not to start another argument, Mila and her riot mouth were nothing but trouble and she needed to start acting her age. "Maybe we should think about redecorating everywhere then?" She suggested.

"maybe we should also head up to bed princess, unless you are wanting to stay up a bit later." he didn't want to make her feel like she had to do what he wanted too but there was no way his brain could continue functioning affectively.

She watched him yawn and she laughed, standing up she turned the tv off and reached out for his hands, pulling him up. "I'd carry you but I don't know how well that would go." She squeezed his hand and then led him upstairs.

Ryan couldn't agree more, all he wanted to do was sleep and barely move this weekend but that would be a waste of their time, "that sounds like the perfect plan princess," He took her hand as she pulled him up off of the sofa and he laughed to himself, "that would probably result in a trip to the hospital." he teased as the pair of them went up to bed to get some much needed rest. Once they were all tucked up in bed he pulled her close and kissed her, "good night beautiful."

He was on the later shift and considering he wasn't supposed to be working at all, he had a bit of a shorter shift and he would be able to chill out on the evening. His original plans were to take Robbie and Charlotte to the cinema but that was out there window now, so he'd probably sit in his hotel room by himself watching a film and eating his feelings with some takeaway food. He slipped his phone in his pocket along with his room key and then headed out to his car.

Mila awoke the next morning, she was awake pretty early, she'd been worrying most of the night about having to meet the baby. What if there was some freak accident and she managed to drop her? So she'd gotten up and headed into the living room, with her empty portfolio and her favourite watercolour felt tips and was beginning to sketch out some ideas. It would have been rude to wake Ryan up, he definitely needed the rest and so she sat on the floor in front of the tv, drawing away.

Charlotte hadn't slept well and had turned her alarm off in the middle of the night but that didn't stop her little brother from coming running into her room and jumping on her. Groaning she opened her eyes to look up at him, "Robbie I don't think Henry can make it today.." but her little brothers eyes filled up with tears as she spoke.

Ryan had barely moved a muscle when Mila had woken up, he was completely exhausted so he tugged at the duvet and curled back up on his other side and continued sleeping. Maybe an hour later he finally stirred and looked around the room to see if his girlfriend was there. Letting out a big yawn he rubbed his eyes before descended downstairs to find her, "good morning," he said in a sleepy voice as he made his way into the kitchen to get some coffee and something for breakfast, "sleep well?" he called through to her.
