(Great! I'll go ahead and start cause why not )

With a can of soda in his left hand and a stack of brochures in his right, Tom made his way down to the bus station. The newcomers usually came on Mondays, but this was a 'special delivery' as the leaders called it. A bunch of kids were transferred to Highvale Creek for some reason. Tom was lukewarm about the whole thing, he enjoyed meeting new people. The more the merrier, he thought. But then again, the boys were already sleeping eight people per room, which was a lot. Especially since half of them were day-drinking and the other half were either crying all through the night or jerking off. But it didn't matter that much, he spent most of his time outside, or in the club-house out in the woods planning strategies for the war with the younger boys. They were the only ones who were invested in the war at this point. The girls seemed to have let the boys go as enemies, fighting against the board for making them share rooms were more constructive according to them. He took a sip of the soda that had now turned flat, before wiping some sweat of his forehead. God, it was hot.
-
Ivy nervously fidgeted with the elastic bands on her wrist, whilst looking out the window in sheer terror. Why was she this nervous? Was it because she was moving for the second time in her life, to a place she had never seen before? Or was it because she was about to meet her best friend, after not having seen him for almost three years?
"Are you listening?", A friend stuck his head back from the front seat. Ivy looked at him and nodded.
"Uh-yes, what did you say?"
"We'll be there soon, here's your book", He said and handed her a copy of Manson In His Own Words. She stuffed the book in her backpack and took a deep breath.
"Nervous?" He asked.
"Not really. I just feel like I'm having a heart attack and a stroke at the same time, but it could've been worse", She joked, trying to force a smile, which faded when the bus stopped.
-
Jill looked at the leader with a defying look. It seemed to be the only expression she used these days.
"We're not accepting another roommate! It's just not gonna happen, I refuse.", She said and crossed her arms. The leader sighed loudly, but Jill enjoyed stand-offs like these. Made her feel something. Not much though.
"It's not your decision to make, Jillian. Now, you've already been informed by your counselor that another warning will extend your sentence, is that what you want?" He threatened, before leaving the room to tend to the screaming coming out of the room down the hall. Probably one of the younger girl's having her first period, they tended to overreact.
"My dad will hear about this!", She said before he left, as if it actually meant something. Using her dad as a threat had become a staple for her, so much so that the leaders would just laugh as soon as she said it. Even the teacher couldn't keep from smiling. She looked at Winona.
"You coming?", She said. It was about a five-minute walk to the bus-station that was located by the south-boarder, and while Jill liked to keep the minutes she spent with her roommate to a minimum, she didn't want to welcome their new roommate alone.

Wiona had her eyes on a particularly ugly drawing of a dog, scribbled with a thick black marker directly onto the wall. To no one's surprise, the thing's genitals were bigger than its body.
"No I'm sorry, it's just that I'm so enchanted by this artwork that I don't think I'll ever be able to take my eyes off it," she said and glanced over at Jill.
"What's the problem exactly? It's not like we couldn't handle some greenhorn." The "we" word made her cringe. She supposed she could stop trying to be difficult and just get this over with, so the dog was left behind to its demise. Probably getting cleaned off as soon as the janitor was notified.
---
"If you try that again you'll get a boot up your ass!" From one second to the other, Jeremiah's face had turned into a fuming red. "Or I'll give you a real fucking reason to wear them!"
Max had almost started to forget about Jeremiah's outbursts. With this, he had just gotten out of a record streak of no days offended. He caught a pair of weaponized pants and put on an apologetic smile.
"Sorry man, just wanted to try out your glasses."
"Yeah, well, weren't you the one nagging me about newcomers? You don't need my glasses for that." Jeremiah snatched the pants back to return them to the bed where they belonged before storming out the door. Max didn't rush it. He knew Jeremiah would come around in about three minutes. Probably wait for him halfway there.
---
Now, Jeremiah would say that he felt bad for shouting, but it wouldn't mean anything. He'd do it again. Yet there he stood, looking over his shoulder at the yard until Max caught up. They walked in silence for most of the walk there, until Max started going on about soccer. Jeremiah couldn't relate. There was a familiar figure up ahead, which Max raised his hand to.
"Tom!"

Tom greeted the two with a simple nod.
"Top of the morning to ya", There was a weird tension in the air, as if Jeremiah and Max had fought recently. Which wouldn't be all too surprising given Jeremiah's... temper, could you call it? Tom didn't wanna get involved in all that, so he decided to pretend he didn't notice. Two men stepped out of the bus and opened the gate.
"Where are the, uh--", One of them said.
"The leaders are busy. Air conditioning isn't working", Tom said and took a sip of his soda.
"Well then, I assume you are here to--", The other said.
"Show them around. Yes.", Tom said. They both seemed annoyed with his interrupting, which amused him slightly.
"Well then, we'll need to count them and I assume the paperwork--"
"Will be done by our lovely administrator, Helen. She lives there.", He nodded towards the cabin a couple of hundred feet away. The two men nodded and walked towards it. Tom looked at the bus children were emerging from. Small ones, he recognized some of them.

-
"Everyone sits still until we've sorted out some arrangements!", One of the adults in the front of the bus said. Ivy looked out the bus, and spotted him. He was leaning against the fence, and even though she could only see his back she knew it was him. She knew that skinny frame and that licorice hair. She felt her heart beat faster than it usually did. Would it be the same? Would they still be friends?
"So, the younger ones can get out first. Ages 9 to 15, hurry now!", The adult said. Ivy waved some of her younger friends goodbye. She wasn't sure if she was jealous because they got to get out of the boiling hot bus, or relieved cause she got to hide for a moment more to collect herself. Although to be fair, at this point she was just hyperventilating.
-
Jill glared at Wiona  and shook her head.
"It's about principals. I was told I would get my own room. Then, I get forced to share with you. Before you know it, we'll loose everything! Do you wanna end up like the boys? Sleeping, what, twenty people a room?" She put her hair up in a ponytail. She didn't know how to welcome someone anymore. She used to be good at socializing, in fact, she used to be brilliant. Anyone who weren't friends of Jill Harper were irrelevant. Not anymore. She had completely lost that part of herself, that social butterfly was killed the minute she stepped inside the Highvale Creek facility. It was weird how badly she wanted the new roommate to like her, since she had done everything in her power to keep her relation with Wiona as neutral as possible.

(Thank you for your patience! This will be super short but I feel it's better to just get into this again than wait some more for inspiration to strike. Will write in the other one soon too!)

-
Jeremiah gave a half-dirty look to the children exiting the bus. A special delivery of troublemakers. Didn't that just sound super great. He especially anticipated the small snotty hands. With the sour thoughts out of the way, his expression softened.
"Isn't there a daycare for these or something?"
"They're on a whole different plane than little kids, Clarke," Max said. "They're older little kids. Dangerous business."
-
Wiona dreaded that situation too. She had come to peace with not getting her own room but, if she was going to share she wanted to share with someone descent. But twenty? No way. Not even a handful. She would start an uprising before that happened.
"We won't end up like the boys. But I bet you this much. Principals means nothing if it means the people up there gets some juicy pocket money or whatever big boy prize they get from cramming kids together as tight as they can."

Tom handed out brochures to the kids getting out of the bus.
"Wait, do I know you?", He found himself recognizing the majority of them. Especially the older ones.
"We're from St. Amber's", One of them said. That was his foster home, Tom thought.
-
Ivy was the last person to get off the bus. The weight of her backpack made her feel somewhat grounded when she headed towards the exit. Upon stepping out of the bus, the cold breeze helped her breathe normally again. Then she saw Tom. She knew he wouldn't be able to spot her, she was short and hidden in a crowd of troubled teens. But at least he looked the same, more or less. Long hair, back in st. Ambers long hair wasn't allowed. She broke free from the crowd after being counted, heading straight towards Tom.

Jill said nothing as they walked towards the bus-station. She looked at the group of younger and older kids forming, there were a lot. "How are we supposed to find anyone in this mess", she muttered and leaned towards a rock.
