Sophie was curled up on her bed with a book, which wasn't an unusual sight in the house anymore. As much as she knew she should probably be tidying, or helping out with other preparations for the arrival of their new flatmate, but she just couldn't tear herself away. It didn't help that she wasn't particularly thrilled at the prospect of a stranger moving in with them; she hated new people. It'd taken her ages to adjust to living with Oliver and Venus, although now they all got on really well. On the upside it'd take the weight of them all money wise, as bills had been increasing and work was hard to come by - she was waiting to find the perfect vacancy.

Connor was sat on the train, on a seat by the window. He had his earbuds in and his music up as loud as it'd go, as per usual. He'd decided that getting away like this was going to be the perfect thing for him. After the rather 'turbulent' year or so he'd had he was keen to move away and have a fresh start. He glanced down at his phone, and scrolled through social media, his mind wandering as he considered what his knew roommates might be like. He rested his arm on the two small boxes he'd stacked on the seat next to him, as he looked back out the window, noticing buildings and views of the city not too far ahead.

Sorry this took so long!

Venus had been painting all evening due to an argument she had gotten into with Oliver earlier, something about him needing to go to a therapist for his condition. He was currently incapable of feeling emotions due to an overdose about a year ago that caused some random freak brain trauma, but he insisted he would figure it out himself. Fine, deal with your own problems, Oliver, who gives a shit? Yeah, that sounded like what she said, which she felt extremely guilty for. Sophie was their other roommate, and she absolutely hated it when they fought, but Venus wasn't exactly a gentle person. So there she was, sitting in the extra room she'd converted into an art space, throwing water color paints angrily at a canvas, splattering the wall and tarps on the floor, which didn't matter much because she bought the place a long while back. This piece consisted of very dark but vibrant reds, purples, blues, and black, and was very much just an abstract piece created from anger, but she loved those types of things. It almost made her think of a bruise. They had a new roommate moving in with them, a guy named Connor, which brought up dozens of feelings, specifically pain and a long yearning, but she knew it couldn't be him. Still, though, she fussed over cleaning the apartment and the guy's bedroom to almost immaculate conditions, a habit she'd formed whenever somebody new came by.

Oliver was sat in the living room with photographs spread out on the coffee table, photographs he had taken over the course of a few years, trying to remember what it was like to feel the way he felt in them. He knew what the emotions were, but when it came to actually feeling them anymore, he just couldn't figure it out. A switch had been turned off or something, all because of some dumb mistake a while back. "Soph?" he called out, the argument with Venus still on his mind. The place was always quiet after they'd had a fight. He stood up and made his way to her door, which was slightly ajar, and he knocked softly before pushing it open a little more. "Sophie, do you think I need a therapist?" he asked her genuinely, leaning against her door frame and crossing his arms. "Because I'm starting to think I might." he told her, his voice pretty quiet but sounding like it was amplified in the silent apartment.

No worries, I've been busy with doing work anyway :)
---
Sophie felt eyes on her as she turned over the page, and then heard a soft knocking so looked up. As her eyes felt upon Oliver she gave him a small smile, guessing he wanted company, as she'd heard him fighting with Venus earlier, which is the reason she been hiding in her room in the first place. "Hey Ollie," She greeted. Her eyes widened slightly, unsure quite what to say as this was a rather loaded question. She gestured for him to come and sit with him, and she placed her book face down on the bedside table so she didn't loose her place. A short breath escaped her lips as she pool her thoughts, "I certainly think it'd help, yeah," she began, wanting to come off as supportive, as the topic of therapy had been a very difficult one within the house. "If you feel ready to take that step then you know I'll support you. You know Venus, she hardly tiptoes around these things, but she I reckon she wants the best for you too."

Connor rose from his seat as the train briefly darkened when the went through the short tunnel to the station. He tucked the one of the small boxes under his arm, and rested the other one on the top of his case as he wheeled it off the train. After glancing around for taxi sign from the busy platform he spotted one, and headed in the direction that it showed. It lead him outside, and he entered the nearest taxi. He relayed the address to the driver and they headed out of the station. As they drove he pulled out all the relevant housing documents that he'd been posted, and flicked through them. His eyes fell upon the names of his room mates that'd been passed onto him, and one stood out to him in particular: Venus. He felt as if he knew that name from somewhere, but couldn't place it, and since it was such an unusual name he figured he'd remember.
