Homemade Recipes - Competition

This is an Event Team Competition!

To enter this competition you simply have to come up with a healthy recipe and post it below with the ingredients used and a step by step guide. (It can be a savoury or sweet dish.)
 
There are three ways of winning this competition! (So if you enter, you have 3 chances of getting a prize!)
The first prize will go to the person with the most imaginative recipe with the easiest guide on how to make their dish. (So the more detail you incorporate into your dish, the better chance you have of winning!)
 
I am then going to cook all of the recipes that have been entered into this competition (This may take a while so you have to bear with me.) 
Once I have made the recipe, I will take a picture of it and upload it here. When all the recipe photos are up, the public will vote on who's recipe looks the best! (So, if you have any garnishes or finishing touches you want me to add, remember to place that in one of your steps in your entry!)
The third prize goes to the recipe I thought tasted the best. (So make it tasty guys!)
 
The closing date to enter this competition is a week today, Wednesday 21st August 2013 at 1pm GMT.
I am postponing the closing date to Friday 23rd August at 1pm. So you have an extra 2 days to get your entries in! 
The competition will probably run for about a month though since I have to buy and cook everything.
 
Prizes: 
The first prize goes to the person with the easiest guide and most imaginative recipe. They will receive: 3000pd and 10credits.
The second prize goes to the best looking recipe, voted by the VP public and they will receive: 3000pd and 10 credits.
The third prize goes to the most tasty recipe and they will receive: 5000pd and 20 credits.

Berry Smoothie

Ingredients:
  • Crushed ice
  • Fresh OR frozen blueberries 
  • Fresh OR frozen strawberries
  • A little milk OR vanilla ice cream
  • Orange Juice (you can substitute with other orange flavored juices, but orange juice is the most healthy) - put double the amount of milk/ice cream used
Of course the amount you put depends on your serving, adjust as needed.

Directions:
Chop up the blueberries and strawberries into smaller pieces  
  1. Put the crushed ice in the blender and turn it on in order to make them as small as possible
  2. Add the berries in the blender and pour your juice and milk inside, if using ice cream, wait and blend the other food first
  3. (optional) After you blend it for a few seconds, add in the ice cream
  4. Blend until finished
  5. Enjoy your healthy berry smoothie!

NOTE: Usually, the way I do this is table them in mini Bundt pans, or in one big Bundt pan, just because it looks prettier. Also, I'll include a recipe for a nice glaze I drizzle on the cake to make it look nice, and also for that perfect bit of sweetness. :3 Also, glazing is easiest when the cake is hot or fairly warm.

Vegan Carrot Cake! :d

Ingredients

2 cups whole wheat flour
1/4 cup soy flour (optional)
1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon ground cloves
4 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons tapioca starch (optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups hot water
1/4 cup flax seed meal
2 cups packed brown sugar
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
3/4 cup dried currants (optional)
6 carrots, grated
1/2 cup blanched slivered almonds (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray. Whisk together the whole wheat flour, soy flour, cinnamon, ground cloves, baking soda, tapioca starch, and salt in a bowl until blended; set aside.
  2. Pour the hot water into a mixing bowl, and sprinkle with the flax meal. Stir for a minute until the flax begins to absorb the water, and the mixture slightly thickens. Stir in the brown sugar and vanilla until the sugar has dissolved, then add the currants, carrots, and almonds. Stir in the dry mixture until just moistened, then pour into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack.

Le Glaze (my favorite part)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar

  • Directions

    Combine milk and vanilla in a medium saucepan and heat over low heat until warm. Sift confectioners' sugar into milk mixture. Whisk slowly, until well combined. Remove the glaze from the heat and set over a bowl of warm water to keep from hardening cry changing texture. To glaze the cake, there are multiple methods. The easiest is to take a spoon down drizzle the cake, which is probably best done while the cake is either still hot or fairly warm so it melts.

Chicken pasta

Ingredients
2 chicken breast
Butter
Milk
Salt
Pepper
Cheese 
BBQ chips (optional)

3 cups pasta noodlea

1 Fill a pan with water and bring to a boil then put your noodles in.
2 Cook the chicken. Get a skillet out and turn it to medium. Cut the chicken breast into small chunks (bite size) Salt and pepper it to taste.
3 Dice an onion cut an onion in half then cut it so its like half of rings and then turn it and cut again so you have small pieces.
4 Put about a spoon ful of butter in a pan and put the onions in the pan. Once the onions start cooking a bit put the chicken in.
5 Check on the noodles try one to see if their done.
6 Rince the noodles With cold water.
7 Flip the chicken so it cooks on the other side cut a piece in half to see if its done if its white its done if its pink its not dne.
8 put the noodles and the chicken in a big bowl. Add the alfredo sauce and about 1/3 cup of milk. Add a cup of cheese and stir untill its all mixed well.
9 Put it in a caserole pan. And crunch up the bbq chips untill their crumbs and put it on the top of the caserole. This makes a nice crunch. On top add cheese on top of the crumbs to help it crisp up. (The bbq chips is totally optional)
10 Bake at 350 degrees of 30 min.
11 Cut and serve.
