Helhest (Hell horse) Also known as kirkhorse or corpsehorse.
The helhest is a ghost horse with three legs and glowing eyes. It is little more than a skeleton in appearance. A helhest is the ghost of a horse buried alive to consecrate a new churchyard, as people believed the first being the first to be buried in a new graveyard would bring death and disease to one's family. Therefore, an animal was buried instead, often a horse. One of it's legs would be chopped up to keep it there, meaning the horse would be able to keep control of the dead souls. Seeing the ghost of the horse was a sure sign you would die soon after.
Vampires are famous for having an excessive thirst/hunger for blood, pale skin, dark hair, and avoiding direct sunlight. They are also connected with bats, as in the vampire bat. In popular culture, vampires are often portrayed as seductive.
