A fate inked in blood (book)

I finished it. All the 15 hours of audiobooking. I didn't like it.

I am stopping my attempt at adult romantasy right here like sorry the sex scenes and fantasies and pining ain't believable to me like it felt so flat and it's a romantic fantasy like?? The choice of pov or something kept us so distanced from the mc I really did not feel w her for anything she did like yeah just watching her walking around as if I'm playing the sims

I am also reading Malibu Rising bc my booksta mutual recommends it constantly and it got translated to Norwegian, but I'm on page 70 and so far it's just been a lot of ppl in sexual scenes and surfing. So far I only like the parents backstory bc they went on a cuts date

But pls tell me this is not how allosexual are bc seriously I can't take all this divorce and I'm dating ur x girlfriend, ppl in sex scenes and I want to date u content anymore like

I may have to go back to my trustworthy fantasy books like even the romantic ones bc even divine rivals is not serving this

For anyone it will concern, my most imminent tbr is
- the poppy war
- priory of the orange tree
- finishing divine Rivals 2
- Dragonfruit
- cemetery boys
- happy all the time

Romantasy (adult) - fantasy setting but the goal is fucking your obviously established love interest and pining from them for the entire book and thinking about their parts

Romantasy (YA) - ACTUALLY ROMANTIC in a fantasy setting and actually have a plot.

I was disappointed because I adore DLJ's Dark Shore series (more ya) & the first two books in the Bridge Kingdom series but this one just felt rushed, all over the place and lacking in any real character development

I'm so sad about Fate Inked in Blood because I've only heard bad things, especially from Nordics, which makes me not wanna read it.

I DNF'ed the malibu rising audiobook rather fast tbh. I only got 1-2% in before quitting, but I really feel the first part.

I kinda actually liked the world building but the characters and plot is just not it. It had promise in the beginning and then nothing happened between 20-90%

I hoped it was going to be similar to  the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo or something closer to a feel good book even tho the house biens, but this is just cheating fathers and women that are too good for them and children clearly carrying wounds from their father abandoning them for two years to marry and divorce 3 other women and cheat at least 10 times

And the party never ticking starts

you saying it's different to seven husbands makes me consider if I should pick that one up. I got off the tbr after malibu, but if it's not the same vibe, it might be worth it.

The first book I read was Highest Bidder by Willow Winters, and while it was a decent book at the time, looking back at it, it had literally no character relationship building.
After this one I read the ACOTAR series, which I can recommend. It’s not YA, but I feel like there is actually a decent development of the characters relationship and I enjoyed the story of the books.

I loved that book. It's set to old Hollywood and is about a Hollywood star (fictional but Marilyn Monroe era vibes) tells her life story to a journalist and practically how she had 7 husbands through her life but SPOILER In white she's actually queer :)

I am gonna buy a norwegisn copy of that book to my aunt nxt time she needs a present. And after that, Circe in Norwegian. (I keep gicing her books I've read bc she says I only read fantasy and it's not adult enough, but now she have read the secret history (found it a tad too slow and I agree tbh), and the song of achilles (which she loved).) I didn't like Circe but she loves mythology books.
