So basically tumblr has been a gigantic financial disaster for everyone who bought it. So they are trying to appeal to new users by turning tumblr into every other social media because idk to be honest.

There's probably pressure from investors? 

To be fair tumblr users hate change but I can't remember a reaction this big since the porn ban.
