i feel like whenever i see people complaining about design rejection its always complaining about dt being at some sort of problem.. like getting the same feedback over and over isnt a coincidence it just means the same issues are still there but instead of applying the feedback it turns into dt is "too harsh" or : unfair"  and then somehow circles back to taking digs at other designers work like thats gonna help urs get approved..

nobody is rejecting things for fun it makes more work for us to reject it.. the feedback is given for a reason but it only works if u apply it instead of brushing it off and blaming everyone else

i rly do understand that feedback is there to ensure a certain standard is being kept and applying feedback should definitely be done, like it's obviously silly to complain about the first round of feedback bc it can be very helpful
but i think there is a reason multiple ppl complain about the way designs get rejected over and over or rejected at all
for me it was also very demotivating and sad to have my design be rejected again and again after putting a lot of work in it and really liking it myself so i stopped designing which ig if i'm just too bad at it it is what it is, but i hear this often from other players as well and i do think a lot of designs could at least be used for HOF/WOF even if they're not great on a technical level

like, being forced to go back to the same design over and over because there's some things that technically could be better if you're a better designer but are very hard to fix if you're just starting out, is just not fun and i think it should also be valid for people to voice their thoughts about the accepting process as a beginner just as it is valid for DT to give feedback

Im just so demotivated
Especially since vp is lacking items and I HAVE items
But theyre so harsh with what is allowed by non-D
Especially when u look at some badged designer items. New items
Its one thing to have opinions about the design accepting process and want to have an open conversation about it, but insulting designers and their designs is not the way to go about it and does not help you achieve what you wish to achieve. Resorting to putting others and their designs down does not help lift yourself and your designs up

You can make a giant painting in art school and still fail the class because you didnt show the skill to get a passable grade. You would also get feedback how to improve, but you still gotta make that improvement to actually pass. And you wouldn't hire someone who doesn’t have enough experience. So why would vp be any different?
We may view vp as a hobby, and even tho the teams are all volonteer work- vp itself is still a business that needs to have a certain standard, as any business would

I get it's frustrating to keep having things rejected, been there done that. But as said before there is a reason for that and dt doesnt reject sets just to fuck around bc that is creating more work for them at the end of the day

That being said- i think your new design is coming along nicely! The pattern of the top is very cute
Only thing i would suggest rn is to play around w the outline and have just a bit more contrast. Specially at the sides, outlines doesnt have to be the same colour around the whole piece that’s something i forget sometimes asdfhk

but working for 2 hours after feedback to be told "little to no changes have been made" feels like SHIt

i wasnt putting others down! hold on, i can give u examples.
this is a badged designers item, this item does not go through the "harsh" quality check of non-d or it very likely wouldve been denied as "shapeless", "lacking shading", "ankles looking weird", etc. its a great item but also "unpolished"
yet this item was denied twice for lack of shading and highlights, which the shoes above

i hope this comes across,,, i'm sad, not angry. i just want to feel some reward for submitting items as someone who isnt an artist, and is genuinely trying. and there seems to be many others in this situation @Lyncait does that make more sense? i'm asking for a fairer vote

this isnt directly related but why do people not ask for feedback/criticism and go through the trouble of uploading and submitting especially if theyre not sure if it gets through

theres a few i did ask for feedback on. but imo if my set is finished why would i not submit it. theres no informal place to send it

i guess my frustration is that items are being rejected for intentional design choices i've made,
especially when those same standards arent being upheld by designers

or when those standards are preference based. also telling a non artist "look at references" is dumb
