thing is, it's difficult to determine wether I would be fertile or not, because there is no hormonal reason for the cysts (it's the kind that becomes cancer 1 out of 4, which is why after I had my thrid cyst, the doctors were very set on removing the ovary that has been affected the most)
but considering how my hormone levels are rather weird, it's very likely I never could have had children either way

like I had my surgery and ovary removal when I was 21 and the doctor was like: if you are serious about having your own kids, try for two years, afterwards, it's no promise because the ovary you have left is already really small (it had to get cut down a bit from other cyst surgeries)
so considering I'm now 26 and my period has been starting to get like my mum's period when she was starting menopause ... I do not feel optimistic
Aj,, I know my mom has pcos and cysts too (idk if she did anything with them tbh) and usually it can be hard to get pregnant then because the hormones are weird and stuff, but then she had 4 kids before she turned 30 so it is what it is lol

I read abt horror stories where ppl get sterilized (?) tho and then they still get pregnant ,, just wtf,
yeah, that's hormonal cysts, but those are not the kind I have, so in theory (haha) my hormones are "normal" - but if I've learned anything, normal does not exist

well, when it comes to sterilisation, there's a few things in mind
if you sterilise a man, you just sew shut or cut through the tubes (same for a woman in most cases, but for women it's so much more difficult) and if there's someone not being 110% vigilant, then there can be openings in those seams and sperm and ovum can still get through
so, pregnancy
additionally to that, when you look at sterilisation on ovaries, those still leave open the possibilities for ectropian (?????? like when the foetus doesn't go into the womb but decides next to the bladder surrounded by intestines is the place to be) pregnancies. Very rare though. If that happens, go buy a lottery ticket!

but then there's also castration (which can be done to women and rarely gets done to men because of the optics) where you either remove the testes, the ovaries and/or the womb. In that case, no pregnancy possible at all, never

also, never forget that people can be unfaithful

but there was this documentary on Netflix about botched surgeries where they had an example of this supposedly temporary devide that would get inflated inside the fallopian tubes and thus prevent pregnancy but those would often rupture the tissue and then still pregnancy ensued
it's a generally difficult topic even without the added bonus of humankind just refusing to talk about reproduction like the grown-ass adults we are
I think removing the ovaries is fine in most cases, but I don't think I would reccomend anyone (except if they have cancer or smth) to remove the whole womb, cus stuff gets shirted around then, doesn't it? Like ur bladder and other organs can move around and its not very ideal I think. I won't do it at least cus im already worried abt prolapse in the walls between stuff down there lol

hopefully I just never get pregnant cus I would be way too horrified

Do u already have contact with any of them?

Srry lmao this stuff interesting to me bc my future kids would b from sperm donors
Not yet! I'm a semi-anonymous donor (i think that's what it's called at least) so they get my information from the clinic when they turn 18 and not before, so there's still some years left. I chose not to do it openly, because I know how terrible the teenage phase can be, and I was worried I would end up in the middle of it. Also, I had just entered a relationship, and if we got any children later on, I would feel more comfortable about my children not bringing home a partner that shared some similarities with me, without being able to verify whether they shared genes or not.

It's honestly really interesting to see how different people feel about donations, because the donors, the children and the people who received the donation all have very different ideas of the thoughts of the other people.

Yee here they're all like that mostly as far as I know, I do know anonymous donations aren't allowed here anymore and I'm glad about that. But after doing like more research I feel like I'd prefer for them to just be able to contact as soon as they would want to and not have to wait til 18. Cause I'm rlly like   eeeee I don't wanna feel like I'm keeping info from them or something?
I think ideally it'd be via a good friend bc then I also just know the person n he could just be more of an uncle figure or whatever? but then at the same time those situations can get messy too 😔
Makes me feel very jealous of cishets lol
On the other hand, it might be better for them to wait until they're 18, because they have a lot of confliction feelings before. If it's the law and you physically can't give them the information, then it's not your fault after all.
Well, that's also possible! I think you should look up some alternative ways to have a family and see the options. I heard an interview of a lesbian and gay couple who'd decided to buy a house together and then get two children together, and it honestly sounded like an amazing scenario.
Cishets have their own troubles, and I honestly don't think you should feel jealous if you see some of the crazy cases that goes around.

actually, removing the ovaries doesn't get done before you're in your mid 30s and only if you already have children and having more children is medically so unsafe that you'd die from having any more children

(I asked, trust me, no one's removing any of your ovaries, because "what if you suddenly become *mature* and want children?". It angers me, because I could do without the annual cancer scare, but I guess it's best for my health to be stressed about potentially having cancer rather than not being able to have my own kids, because god forbid I genuienly wanted my own and couldn't have some, I'd probably get sad or something... (Like, not to diminish the agony women who can't have kids but want to are in, it's valid. But also, can we not talk to grown women in a way like they don't know what's best for them and pretend like every woman has this natural instinct to birth at least 2 and a half kids???)

also, yes, womb is difficult because then you risk having a bladder prolapse (my grandma has that issue, because believe it or not, the cysts are genetic, she just had already two kids when the doctors found out)

also, yes, menopause is one of the other reasons why you don't actually want your ovaries removed too early, because you're at a higher risk for shit like osteoporosis and stuff

I didn't notice there was a video before. I wonder what they meant by "loosen up the rules since most are grown up now"?

They also said they will make gsm a safe-space for girls and talk about girl stuff.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high but sounds pretty based so far.
I wish I could remember the old gsm rules though. Perhaps they were too strict, i don't remember. I remember being pretty naughty but i never got perma banned I don't think.
