I think it's fine that gsm comes back, and I will absolutely use the website, but I don't expect to stick around for long (actually not even 5 years) unless they make some changes, which makes it less nostalgic, and unless they actually adopt some of the audience of either Momio or Everskies.

not necessarily, there are many 'outdated' sites that have operated for many years with a niche audience

Most of them with less maintenance than gsm though. That's where my main complaint is.
They closed the website down once, because it was too expensive too keep, and now they're bringing it back (the exact same?) with a bad financial status and not really promising anything but nostalgia.

I would honestly like some kind of idea of how they intend to keep the website going besides "we need money to fix the code". What're they going to do differently? What has changed in the last 6 years for them to want to try again? Etc.

Also how is it going to be for a more mature audience? Is "cocker spaniel" still banned because of "cock" and similar?

they def saw the success of everskies and decided to give it a chance. but tbh i don't really care about longevity and i don't want them to change things too much. the very reason im excited for this is the nostalgia

I'm also suspecting Everskies as the reason, but does that mean, that the target audience will be the minors from everskies? Because if so, then I would rather live with the nostalgia and bittersweet memory compared to having my memory turn bitter.
