all the recommendations I've been getting lately have been ass. the past few books I completed left me feeling like I just wasted my time. I don't even remember the name of the last book I read, because I was so disappointed by the end of it, the surge of negative emotion wiped it from my memory. it was presented to me as "the most gruesome and disgusting story I've ever read. it made me sick to my stomach. it was hard to read" and when I looked it up online, I saw many people felt the same, so I was interested to see what all the fuss was about. not worth it 👎 big flop. & I'm really sensitive, a big baby that can't handle disturbing content, so the fact that I was just like "that's it?" after reading it should be proof enough of how weak it is. at this point, I'm inclined to believe any book that has high ratings and causing a commotion online is not really worth reading. also, I re-read "No Longer Human" because I forgot I already read it a long time ago, so that was a different type of disappointment; not a bad book. I currently have 16 books left on my to-read list, so I'm hoping at least one of em will be good.

ahhh I loved this one: a court of thornes and roses. Im reading the 4th book and I must say that the first one isnt the best one. It just gets more interesting from the 2nd one, so even if at the beginning you find it a little slow or boring, just keep reading, its worth it.
i've heard that before! so i will keep on reading!!

ah yey a book thread!!

I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump for the past few weeks after finishing the eight book in the zodiac academy series. It was… something. And WAY too long (1200 pages, yikes). I’m not actually enjoying the series anymore, but I also like want to know how it finishes

but last week I read all four of the heartstopper graphic novels, and they were fantastic honestly. I smiled, giggled, cried.. all the emotions

yesterday I started ‘fourth wing’ by rebecca yarros and I’m enjoying it so far! Looks like it’s gonna be an enemies to lovers situation, and I’m all here for that! And of course, can’t go wrong with dragons

I also have the vanishing half by brit bennett, the 7 habits of highly effective people by stephen covey and abida raja: frihetens øyeblikk (norwegian memoir) checked out from the library right now, so I’m hoping to get to those soon!

I really want to read mistborn too! But my library only has one copy, and the person having it checked out won’t return it… maybe i’ll have to buy the series

Find a used copy for Sanderson if it is! He's selling a ton of books, so getting a cheaper used copy shouldn't be too hard. I would link my google drive for audiobooks I have from Audible with the whole series available, but idk if you're into audiobooks at all.

If you want to do a deep dive into Sanderson's Cosmere universe (which Mistborn is a part of) you can also easily start with Warbreaker, which is available for free online on his website:

Yes, I’m definitely gonna look for used copies of his books, if I end up deciding to buy any!

Warbreaker is one of the few Sanderson books my library doesn’t have, and I didn’t know I could read it for free online. Thank you for sharing the link!

I started reading Broken Bonds while on holiday and the cliffhanger has me desperate for the next in the series. Unfortunately the author is having some issues due to pirated copies so book 2 has been pulled from amazon. so for the meantime I'm twiddling my thumbs while re-listening to crooked kingdom
