Not to mention all the awful designs i made for et before there was quality control, those should never have seen the light of day

i guess my frustration is that items are being rejected for intentional design choices i've made,
especially when those same standards arent being upheld by designers

or when those standards are preference based. also telling a non artist "look at references" is dumb
I don’t wanna create drama within dt in regards to the first part but I do agree with you in that, but in the opposite direction like I think the quality should be upheld better within Dt but I can’t speak much because I’m the worst dt member and barely do anything rn 😭
The thing is that dt has the same bar as nond has- being accepted into dt isn't a stamp that you have a higher skill level, it's a stamp that you have a consistent quality in the designs you do make
And once you have the dt badge you stop getting feedback and you are on your own kinda-
im looking back at some of my designs and sometimes think to myself "why couldn't someone have pointed out that it needed more contrast/ it's too blurry"
It's so easy to get blind when you've worked on a set for hours
yea once ur in u can just kinda submit whatever bullshit u feel like
if others arent gonna comment on it then it gets put in the game. and ofc people arent gonna comment bcs then it's draaaammaaaaaaa and the recipient is gonna think the critic hates them and their work and there's the infighting again

i think on top of this its also because dt members dont Check each others designs like with non-d submissions, so if someone has a scuffed item in an upload, most probably wouldn't  notice it

btw i don't mean this @ anyone in particular but dt quality checking is often very split and people have differing opinions so i sure do hope nobody reading this thread wants to think that theres some kinda conspiracy or bias. if devilcakeenemy5000 submits a sexy set and devilcake doesn't think it passes the check even tho it very clearly does, we will be side-eyeing devilcake. if encredeloveforever_998 submits something blurry and unintelligible and encrede votes  for it to pass the check, we will be side-eyeing encrede. i wouldn't hesitate to call out biased voting if i spotted it. especially if it was done by my friends in the team lol. if my hypothetical best friend of all time joined vp and submitted slop i would reject it until they improve. and nobody gets a kick out of rejecting stuff, for the record. it's not fun and it's hard to write good feedback. we want people to improve 🤷‍♀️

if the feedback you get isn't explaining problems or how to fix them in a way that you understand, please reach out to someone for more specific input. and it's very valid to not understand feedback because it IS hard to write feedback as an experienced designer, because you have to explain things without phrasing it in a way that makes sense to yourself. it's difficult.
feedback is also generally written with a straightforward and "professional" tone, so if that comes off as cold to you, just remember that it isn't trying to be insulting. it's not shitting all over the work you've done. the person writing it isn't sitting and scoffing at you, they're just trying to help, and it might not be phrased or explained in a way that works for you. so reach out to people who can give you the specific feedback and tone that you need. people want to help but the kindness and understanding needs to go both ways 💪

even just a message at the end saying that its ok to message [these users] fo more help or clarification. because it feels so burdensome to keep asking the same two people and not understanding still

and also also
if you do notice that a badged designer is uploading items that you think aren't up to the standards that non-ds need to reach to have their items accepted, message an admin. i think everyone in dt would agree that we SHOULD be held to the same standards, and nobody should be able to pass by unnoticed just because they have a badge, but bringing it up in this way only comes off as mean and petty, which i don't think is your intention

Honestly I should start working harder in dt n help with feedback so I can speak more on this now that I have more time 🙏 at least this is giving me some dt motivation slay

i get it! something that's crystal clear and obvious to me might be a completely different language to you. the feedback system is kind of not great for situations like that because you really do need to have a conversation to really get it sometimes. people also need to hear from the person they're helping to know which parts they don't understand or what needs to be explained differently

i wanna offer myself as someone you can ask for advice but i'm super afk from live as a whole so idk how helpful i would be 🥲

that wasnt my intention, and i love eliah as a designer. she makes great single items, and i understand set restrictions and required items, quotas etc etc, but that was just the one i could think of off to find quickly
(its cause the hat from the same set is SO COOL, then those shoes look like fish fins to me XD)
