btw i don't mean this @ anyone in particular but dt quality checking is often very split and people have differing opinions so i sure do hope nobody reading this thread wants to think that theres some kinda conspiracy or bias. if devilcakeenemy5000 submits a sexy set and devilcake doesn't think it passes the check even tho it very clearly does, we will be side-eyeing devilcake. if encredeloveforever_998 submits something blurry and unintelligible and encrede votes for it to pass the check, we will be side-eyeing encrede. i wouldn't hesitate to call out biased voting if i spotted it. especially if it was done by my friends in the team lol. if my hypothetical best friend of all time joined vp and submitted slop i would reject it until they improve. and nobody gets a kick out of rejecting stuff, for the record. it's not fun and it's hard to write good feedback. we want people to improve 🤷♀️
if the feedback you get isn't explaining problems or how to fix them in a way that you understand, please reach out to someone for more specific input. and it's very valid to not understand feedback because it IS hard to write feedback as an experienced designer, because you have to explain things without phrasing it in a way that makes sense to yourself. it's difficult.
feedback is also generally written with a straightforward and "professional" tone, so if that comes off as cold to you, just remember that it isn't trying to be insulting. it's not shitting all over the work you've done. the person writing it isn't sitting and scoffing at you, they're just trying to help, and it might not be phrased or explained in a way that works for you. so reach out to people who can give you the specific feedback and tone that you need. people want to help but the kindness and understanding needs to go both ways 💪
