i would advise to tell him that it was only friendly conversation. if he's still angry with you, forget about the guy. 

personally i would be a bit cautious of a guy that reacts like that without proper context. but, i dont know the guy and i don't know what the exchanged convo between that guy and the jelly girl was like.
