I had my bets on chowder

So far I've heard either icarly or youtube, which makes sense

For me, spongebob. Absolutely spongebob. Or south park.

I think early to core millenials would say ren and stimpy or simpsons. Or south park. South park is super millenial tbh

End gen z

I think vp has a larger early to core z userbase (late 90s to early 2000s)

I just threw 2012 in to make my definition of gen z clear

Imo millenial is 81-96

Some say 95 is the start of z but I think 97 makes more sense

It depends who you ask

Some define the start of z as 95, when windows 95 came out

I agree with the 96 cut off instead

Personally I think generations have a 15 year span so 97-12 makes sense in my head

But I'm no expert take it with a grain of salt

oooh very interesting question! i feel like there's a wide variety of factors that shaped my sense of humor. definitely disney/nick/cartoon network had an effect and shaped how i communicated with peers. i also think my family i grew up with being more snarky and cynical also largely effected how i viewed media. if my sibling didn't like something, i also didn't like that. some snl, simpsons, and bob's burgers were definitely big ones that more of my family could agree on watching together. i think i strayed a bit from the question oops.

Simpsons is awesome like it bridges everyone together

I would say I grew up more with family guy than I did Simpsons, like family guy is more my generation

But I love the simpsons... its like the glue that holds all generations together

So I work with a wide range, boomers, zoomers, gen x, millenials

And simpsons is the only show we are all equally familiar with its interesting

Hm, for me it's a bit hard. My humor developed a bit late because I wasn't allowed to watch TV til I was 11 unless it was PBS Kids ahah. I'd say I (unfortunately) developed my humor when I got into youtubers like Onision, and for some reason fell down a really bad rabbit-hole of "edgy" Youtubers that ended at Sargon of Akkad when I was like 16 ahah.

So I suppose the answer is youtube.

Yeah I've pulled some zoomers and a few cited youtube videos or youtubers

So yeah YouTube I think is a big winner. Like isnt fred influential as shit to zoomers?

Also dont feel bad I used to like the amazing atheist when I was 13-15

I'd say flash video is a more millenial thing

Like yeah YouTube really shaped my middle school identity but right before it launched I loved ebaumsworld, albinoblacksheep and newgrounds

That's the true millenial vs gen z marker imo

my guess would be that their humor formed almost entirely online and they wont have a singular cartoon to point to like you and me point to spongebob and gen x points to the simpsoms
