For 3 (ish) months of the year the sun rises at 5am and sets at 4pm here. I don't understand who is supposed to benefit from it. I guess it's less inconvenient if you don't have wall clocks or alarms.  /srs

the am/pm and 24h clock thing i feel like everyone should know both. they both have their uses but the 24 hour clock is def more precise. and you cant accidentally set ur alarm for 8 pm instead of 8 am

Because the earth rotates in an oval and the sun isn't centered, so for a while in it's rotation the sun is genuinely out for longer! (So there is always about an hour of variance, DST just really highlights it. I will admit, That is a very dramatic example though)

It didn't have to be  directly related, it's another (In my opinion) stupid thing about time. If anyone has anything else to add i can always add more too
