What's worse is that this isn't the only place in the world this is happening!
And I dont really agree with the animal activists either! Cus they are putting pressure on the government to REHOME them. I think the orcas and dolphines should just be put down, to save them from the miseral life that is marine parks. Since they were born in captivity they can't be released to the wild.

In cases like this I think sanctuaries are more a way to calm humans down. Im not saying they are all bad. But looking at what Hanne Strager said in one part
Strager warns that the proposed sanctuary might feel as alien to Wikie and Keijo as open ocean would.
"We have this conception that animals enjoy freedom in the same sense we do, 'now they are free and they will love it.'
"We don't know if they see freedom the same way ... Are they going to be scared because it is so different to what they're used to? I don't know."
We know we cant release them into the wild, and while we know sanctuaries are way smaller than the open ocean, the orcas who grew up in a tiny pool doesnt know that. A big sanctuary could stress them just as much as if they were released into the wild :c
