i had them for probably... 6 years?
i didn't find the piercing particularly painful but they swelled a lot in the 2-3 days after so it was a bit uncomfortable for a while.

i never found them to be in the way when eating or kissing or anything else really.
the only issue was, when i would take the jewelry out when i went to the dentist (cuz i didn't wanna hear them complain saying it could damage my teeth lol), it would usually take me almost 30 minutes to get the jewelry back in and i had to use a taper to do it. and they'd be sore for a couple days after. one time i forgot and waited until the next day to try to put the jewelry back in, but i could never get it back in. even tho the piercings were 6 years old by that point.

i've had a lot of other piercings, and besides my eyebrow piercing that completely rejected out, the snakebites were the ones that gave me the most trouble. but i've also had friends who healed quick and had no trouble with them! so i'm not sure if my experience was normal or not. but i'd say if you want em they are worth trying, as long as you don't mind the restrictions on what you can eat or drink the first weeks.

also, if you decide you don't like the look or have to take em out, the holes are generally small and not noticeable in my opinion. mine have very little scar tissue.
