today i had an appointment with our company's medical specialist because i'm finding it increasingly difficult to work with chronic headaches/migraines and chronic pain in my feet and also neurodivergence hhh
and the doctor i talked to said yeahh you have a lot going on are you sure this job is the right fit for u...
i like my job (im autism coach as in i coach ppl with autism) but i don't like certain aspects of it. its an hour drive to my first client and another hour home which makes me not very flexible hour wise. i hate all the administrative tasks and keeping on top of them / do them in time : / and i often get headaches at the end of my work day, i lowk think i cant work longer than 6 hours a day without risking headaches. but work days are 8 hours long lol...

do any of u know of jobs that could be cool for a social worker that are not physically demanding + flexible hours if possible ;; i'm certified to work with kids also

Idk how to hit all the boxes, like straight up desk admin work is rly great for being able to work remotely/flexibly/ seated n im sure theres gotta be some admin only roles but if you don’t like admin that’s obvi not it,,,

working with kid as a substitute can be super flexible bc you can always say no to shiftable obvi then ur on your feet all day and screaming kids aren’t gonna be good for the headache…

maybe a personal assistant position for the right person? (As in assistant to someone with a disability not the celeb kind 😭) at one point I was looking into those kind of jobs and the tasks can be super varied, some people want someone to doling walks or going to the gym with them, others just need someone to help in their home and with personal hygiene and stuff which obviously can also be quite a physical job but ur not walking around as much?

that or maybe asking ur boss if you’d be able to work 75% or so percent instead so you can do 6h days or 3 day weekends

It sounds like you enjoy the actual work, it’s just the hours + physical/mental load that’s too much 😭 maybe reduced hours or a more flexible version of the job could help?
Headaches after long workdays r the worst, maybe there's sth u can do against those?

that would lowk be so cool!!

i already work 28h a week hahaha so working less could be an option but doesn't change the fact that the commute is long, but it's a good suggestion!!! something to think abt bc in the nl you pay more taxes as you earn more money, so i think i'd only lose out on 100/200eu per month

i do have a lot of meds for my headaches!! but the strong ones have a lot of side effects so i dont like taking em...

and yea its def the pyshical mental load!! i love the 'real'  work of it

i'll just have to look into how much money i'd lose if i worked even less... i need to get a loan to buy a house soon so i cant lose out on too much but maybe it's doable..
