Researchers say it might be one of the reasons yes!
It's why we also can't really read or do other activities that require specifically the uhmm
prefrontal cortex! Because when we enter REM and start dreaming that part shuts down which is also why dreams can appear illogical and weird, and we can't do certain things or rather the brain cannot keep up in a dream and show us exactly how you'd see a book, a phone, a computer screen!

This is btw one of the ways you can actually use this to your advantage and enter the lucid dreaming state, because text, numbers, and other logic related concepts don't REALLY work when we dream, that way if you truly focus on it, or do things in your waking life to try and "train" yourself to do that when you dream 

example is you counting your fingers! in your dream you will never really have 5 fingers on your hand! or if you try and read something, and then turn away and go back to reading it, it will most likely change !

If you wanna I can try n help you analyze the dream, It is a special interest of mine and dreams USUALLY have meaning, even small one, to help us "survive" waking life
