FT: True Crime

For some time now, true crime has been a popular topic for YouTube videos, Podcasts, TV programmes and so on.

A few questions for you guys:
Who is your favourite true crime YouTuber?
What is your favourite true crime podcast?
What is your favourite true crime programme?
And lastly, do you have a favourite case - or a case which you consider particularly interesting?

Who is your favourite true crime YouTuber?
I have always watched Kendall Rae, she also does a podcast with her man. She covers a lot of unsolved cases too in which she from time to time get in contact with family to give an inside into the stories. She also tell u the theories behind the cases that isn't solved yet.

What is your favourite true crime programme?
I have watched Unmasking a killer, which i honestly thought was really damn interresting. It's based about the golden state killer, he have 13 kills on his back, 50+ rapes and 120+ robberies. Which is just insane. He did his last crime in 1986 but was first found and arrested in 2018 (absolutely too fucking insane it took that long)

Im also in the mids of watching I am a killer on netflix thought.

And lastly, do you have a favourite case - or a case which you consider particularly interesting?
So far the story about the golden state killer have been the most chocking one i have read. Just because of how many years he was actually active and how hard it was for hem to find him. Besides that the story about The jonestown massacre, freaks me the fuck out. It was basically a man manipulating and killing a whole town he created himself.

The only relationship I have with true crime is that I vaguely remember a South Park episode about it  And that my sister is very into it but honestly half of the time she speaks I just zone out

Idk, I've never seen the appeal with podcasts, I prefer listening to music it's a lot less effort

I don't really have a favorite.
Whenever i find a documentary about crimes i will watch it, but i find unsolved cases pretty interesting.

I have, however, nearly religiously read a book that may fit in the true crime genre to some extent. I was thinking I'd share the cover but after thinking for a second I realised that it might be offensive to some so.. uhh,,

Here's the English version with a more.. friendly cover:

Who is your favourite true crime YouTuber?
I think Eleanor Neale is a very good youtuber who does reading of true crime and unsolved cases.
Also Harmony Nice because they provide quite a bit of information on the cases in question.
Also lets not forget Buzzfeed Unsolved.
I don't think I can choose between these because they're all pretty good, but maybe buzzfeed unsolved since they provide different people that are being investigated.

What is your favourite true crime podcast?
I haven't really looked into podcasts really.

What is your favourite true crime programme?
No idea

And lastly, do you have a favourite case - or a case which you consider particularly interesting?
There are so many to choose between, but I think the most famous one has to be of the Madeleine McCann case because I personally remember seeing newspapers at the store when I was younger and it has really baffled me to this day as to what could've happened to her.

But there's also one case that isn't talked about or famous, but a young adult about 2,5 hrs away from where I live suddenly disappeared like 1-2 years ago without a trace, the only things that show the last of him is a few street cameras that picked up him walking late one night after hanging out with some friends. On the camera it shows him just suddenly start running and that was the last seen of him.
Some people found some belongings of his like the day or a few days after like his phone, passport and gym bag.
It interests me so much because it's so close to where I live and nobody has any idea where he might have disappeared to or if there's some foul play involved.
I hope he'll be found again some day hopefully alive, he was a good guy and liked by a lot of people.
