❀ Welcome to the official FT Reading thread! ❀

My first theme couldn't not be book-related, and I've been missing a thread like this on VP for us bookworms to discuss and gush about our hobby!

"𝐼𝒻 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓈𝓉𝑜𝓇𝓎 𝑜𝒻 𝓎𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝓁𝒾𝒻𝑒 𝓌𝑒𝓇𝑒 𝒶 𝒷𝑜𝑜𝓀, 𝐼'𝒹 𝒸𝒶𝓇𝓇𝓎 𝒾𝓉 𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝓂𝑒 𝒶𝒸𝓇𝑜𝓈𝓈 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝓌𝑜𝓇𝓁𝒹.
𝐼'𝒹 𝓇𝑒𝒶𝒹 𝒾𝓉 𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝓎 𝓃𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉. 𝒜𝓃𝒹 𝓌𝒽𝑒𝓃𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇 𝐼 𝓇𝑒𝒶𝒸𝒽𝑒𝒹 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝑒𝓃𝒹𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝑜𝒻 𝓌𝒽𝒶𝓉 𝒽𝒶𝒹 𝒷𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝓈𝒽𝒶𝓇𝑒𝒹
𝓌𝒾𝓉𝒽 𝓂𝑒, 𝐼'𝒹 𝑜𝓅𝑒𝓃 𝒾𝓉 𝓉𝑜 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒻𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉 𝓅𝒶𝑔𝑒 𝒶𝓃𝒹 𝒷𝑒𝑔𝒾𝓃 𝓇𝑒𝒶𝒹𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝒾𝓉 𝒶𝑔𝒶𝒾𝓃."

- ꜰʀᴏᴍ "ɢɪʟᴅᴇᴅ ꜱᴇʀᴘᴇɴᴛ" ʙʏ ᴅᴀɴɪᴇʟʟᴇ ʟ. ᴊᴇɴꜱᴇɴ

Here, you can chat about anything book- and reading-related.

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

Feel free to reply to any (or all) of these questions to start a conversation:

- What are you currently reading, and how are you liking it?
- What was your last read?
- What are some 2021 releases you are excited about?
- What is your favourite genre?
- Who's your favourite author(s)?
- What is your favourite book? Can you even choose?
- Which book did you buy last?
- What is your favourite book quote?

I'll start off talking about some of these things in the next post!

・ 。゚☆ Let's get to know each other, and then we can use this thread throughout 2021 to update each other on all our bookish experiences! ☆゚.

Get to know me as a reader!

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

I only read Fantasy and Science Fiction, and I most often read Young Adult (YA), or New Adult (NA).

My favourite authors are Danielle L. Jensen, Sarah J. Maas and Cassandra Clare.

Following up on that - my favourite 5 books (or series) are:
- Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen (series)
- A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas (series)
- The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare (trilogy)
- The Bridge Kindom by Danielle L. Jensen (series)
- "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer

My most anticipated 2021 release is, as of now, "These Hollow Vows" by Lexi Ryan.

I spend way too much money on books, even though I save a lot on daily Kindle deals, haha!

Some of my favourite book quotes are the ones included in the first post! ☆゚

Feel free to befriend me on Goodreads, I am @franreads

Currently reading:

𝒞𝒶𝓈𝓉 𝒾𝓃 𝐹𝒾𝓇𝑒𝓁𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉
by Dana Swift

Adraa is the royal heir of Belwar, a talented witch on the cusp of taking her royal ceremony test, and a girl who just wants to prove her worth to her people.

Jatin is the royal heir to Naupure, a competitive wizard who's mastered all nine colors of magic, and a boy anxious to return home for the first time since he was a child.

Together, their arranged marriage will unite two of Wickery's most powerful kingdoms. But after years of rivalry from afar, Adraa and Jatin only agree on one thing: their reunion will be anything but sweet.

Only, destiny has other plans and with the criminal underbelly of Belwar suddenly making a move for control, their paths cross...and neither realizes who the other is, adopting separate secret identities instead.

Between dodging deathly spells and keeping their true selves hidden, the pair must learn to put their trust in the other if either is to uncover the real threat. Now Wickery's fate is in the hands of rivals..? Fiancées..? Partners..? Whatever they are, it's complicated and bound for greatness or destruction.

It's sometimes very up and down for me too! I'll read 3 books one month and then spend a whole month on half a book the next  But the most important part is that hey - we're still reading!!

the parts i've read so far have all been in interview format, which i find really cool,, but understand if it's not everyone's cup of tea - so definetely recommend them if the format doesn't bother u !!

I feel like people already know me, but since I totally support these topics I must leave my answers:

Currently reading: Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. It's okay thus far but not my type of book to start with so it's moving slowly. It is a new, interesting perspective so I think I will be happy I read it in the end.
Last read: The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V. E. Schwab
2021 releases I'm excited for: The Wide Starlight is the one I am the most hyped for right now. The second is The Living Sea of Walking Dreams.
Favorite genre: YA\NA fantasy, dystopia, 1 contemporary a year-ish, non-fiction abt. science and stuff
Favorite author: I really like Adrienne Young
Favorite book: Haha #VitaNostra
Last book I bought: Loved Clothes Last by Orsola de Castro
Favorite book quote: “But you can build a future out of anything. A scrap, a flicker. The desire to go forward, slowly, one foot at a time. You can build an airy city out of ruins.” - Lauren Oliver, Pandemonium

Audio books are great! I can't actually focus on them but I truly think they are an amazing option and I understand why so many loves them 💚
