i just counted, i have 21 plants in my room. my favorite plant is my calathea white star. i also reallyy love my two monstera adansoniis. if i had the space i would own so many more plants. my dream is to fill an entire room with just calatheas one day
I hear calatheas (and maybe prayer plants in general) are often dramatic and hard to look after but mines been doing great, it's got two new leaves coming out so I think it's fine, hope it'll stay that way.
well my calathea zebrina is a bitch it's like oh okay here i go dying because of literally nothing so i cannot have it. my dad has it now because he is always home and can water frequently year-round lmao

I'm not a huge fan of cacti and succulents, they're kind of boring to me, idk but I love it when they have interesting colours, this one is really cool.

Wow how big is your room? I need material to argue back when my parents tell me to stop buying plants lmao
Calatheas are so .. they look alien? it's amazing
lmao my room is not that big but a lot of my plants are smol or hanging from the ceiling. theres barely room for anymore. but like i just put some on the floor by my bed and random places on the floor.

yess i love the special look of calatheas. so in love with them !!

It sucks because calatheas and other prayer plants are all so cool looking, they almost look fake except for when they're being dicks and they brown or yellow.

I'm the same, I don't really want them myself but I understand the appeal to some extent. I personally have a strong preference for leafy plants. I guess the Sansevieria Trifasciata Laurentii is a succulent but err.. I like it, it suits my.. preference lmao.. and the zz plants are imo pretty much succulents but still okay

The reality is that I'm moving quite .. far north, it's way beyond the polar circle and basically the north pole lol so yeah... and I'm never home during vacations I always go back to my hometown so I can't have plants who DIE without water one week.. ideally they have to survive 3-5 weeks

Sansevierias are also kind of boring to me, there are some growing in my street and I'm constantly fighting the urge to steal a cutting and propagate it but I know I only want to do that because foraging and propagating plants is fun. Zz plants are cool but they're also kind of boring to me? I don't know, I like plants that are exciting, with spots and holes and variegation and colour.

Do any of y'all propagate plants? I find it super fun, I don't know why.

I did actually successfully propagate from my dieffenbachia tropic snow

I was shocked because as you might be able to see it was cut in an unfortunate place so I basically screwed up a leaf that was about to grow right, but somehow it managed to become a normal leaf anyway? it would have been the top of the other leaf?? i don't know.. which looks honestly hilarious because the other part of the leaf grew out on the other plant it's absurd i can't even

They don't grow in Israel either, at least they're not native to Israel. That being said, neither are Eucalyptus trees, sabra cacti and certain pine trees that come from Europe but they still grow here. They just plant sansevieria in planters here to make streets look nice, along with a bunch of other plants, of course.
