Idk I bought it today so only time will tell, I bought it in hope it will eat some of the small flies that are here.. idk how it handles the arctic winter.. we'll see.. They sold it here so I mean if they sell plants knowing well they will die the 6 weeks without sun?? Rude? Although I have seen some plants who demand a lot of light sold here and I'm like brUH

Anyway let's think..
I have:
Dieffenbachia tropic snow
Dieffenbachia Marianne?? Maryanne?? I think that one
Monstera deliciosa
Rhaphidophora tetrasperma
Chinese money.. tree?? plant??
A small schefflera, idk if it is a specific sub-species or just small..
ZZ plant
Snake plant
Some kind of snake plant resembling thing that I separated from my mother's motherplant
Peperomia.. raindrop?? teardrop?? idk some drop thing
Silver pothos
Satin?? pothos, it's like the silver pothos but brighter and with larger leaves
Neon pothos
Chinese evergreen Maria
Venus fly trap
@Alam
Rude is putting it lightly, if they're selling plants to people knowing they will most likely die that's just fucked. I mean, people should know better but they don't so they should take that into consideration, innit?
I really want a rhaphidophora tetrasperma but I only see them sold in big-ish pots and I don't have room for that shit. I know they grow pretty quickly but I mean, I could always propagate cuttings and give them to people I know. I really want to be that person that just, gives you plants.
By chinese money tree do you mean pilea peperomioides?
There are so many scheffleras down my street. they are honestly one of the most boring house plants to me, but I see why people like them.
By silver pothos and satin pothos do you mean scindapsus pictus exotica and argyraeus respectively? Those are lovely, I have cuttings of an exotica propagating in water right now, the leaves don't look too happy (they're all curled up) but I bet once they root a bit more they'll be fine.
When I travel home for Christmas I'll have to leave a light on to ensure that my plants get some light over those weeks, because yeah.. absolutely no sun for almost a solid 2 months might be heavy on plants.

I've only seen them in rather small pots here, like.. 12 cm? Yeah 12 cm sounds right. Mine is growing like aggressively it's insane. I bought it in January, had to up-pot it in April because the roots were just.. insane outside the nursing pot. It has again started growing out of the nursing pot but we are entering winter so I don't have to stress with it. I've seen most people want to have it growing upwards, to ensure that the leaves get large, but I quite like it as a more.. hanging plant tbh. Hopefully it limits the growth a bit as well.

Yes, peperomioides, I didn't remember the name and just went with one of the common names I've heard for it in English. Mine is very small, like 5 cm? pot or something. It is in theory root-bound but it still gets new growth so I want to like hinder that it gets massive immediately.

Yeah, I didn't intend on buying one because I thought like ugh boring but it looks stunning alongside my furniture, in its pot, and with the other plants. Also, for being a tree it doesn't drop leaves that much and that's a huge plus imo.

Yes, those. Mine are amazingly happy tbh, like my argyraeus is getting so long, if it starts hanging over my TV I will have to cut it back, and give those cuttings to a friend of mine and she seemed really happy hearing that's an option. My exotica is quite new, when I bought it it wasn't really veining at all so when I returned home after 3 weeks in my hometown and saw that it is starting to vein and hang downwards?? Happy!!

My most miserable plants after being left for 3 weeks is my monstera (but to be fair it was miserable to start with as it's still angry about being left for 5 weeks this spring.. Some of the leaves are just horrible and will die, I'm sure. But it has gotten 4 small new leaves during summer so I know it will recover with time and actually not thirsting to death lol

(Sorry for tagging I just don't know how frequent people check the FT threads lol)
I find it so cool that some plants can grow under artificial light, I don't know why.

That sounds like the perfect size, I should look out for a smaller one.

I hear they grow like weeds. They're just so funky, I love them despite being kind of basic. They look like alien plants, like, how'd they get so round?

Hearing it be described as a tree makes it sounds somewhat more appealing to me. Like, I want a damn tree in my room? Who doesn't? I've been eyeing our avocados waiting for someone to eat one so I can propagate the pit, I've been wanting to grow an avocado in my room for a while, hopefully it's sunny enough for it. I have a west facing window so that seems like a lot, hopefully it's enough.

I was confused at first as to what you meant by vien, I think you meant vine lol. Yeah, I hear argyraeus grows incredibly quickly as opposed to the exotica so I think you're doing fine. I'd love to get an argyraeus, they're really cool looking.

Sounds like it's recovering if it's getting new leaves, might not be getting enough sun or something considering the leaves being smaller than usual but I don't know much about monsteras or really anything so don't listen to me.

It's okay, I actually appreciate it, I like keeping up with the threads I'm active in but it's a bit hard considering the top corner thingy only shows three recent threads. It also makes it feel like I have friends that want to talk to me, so that's nice.

I managed to stumble across some things about light levels and requirements with very scientific descriptions. I'll just buy a grow light and change the bulb in one of my lamps and have that on, it's better than nothing.

They've gotten popular enough for the like huge plant shop chain in Norway to have them and that's in 13? cm containers so that's nice. Never seen them in anything smaller or bigger actually.

What baffles me the most with the peperomioides is how thick the leaves are, it completely caught me off-guard lmaooo.

Everything with a solid stem is a tree in my definition lmaooo, it looks more like a tree than my other plants so then it's my tree hahahaha. I wish I got into the avocado thing but I think they taste very.. weird so it's not for me, but I enjoy seeing how it is a way for people to start liking plants and getting more because they manage to grow things and get excited over the entire thing.

Lol yeah sometimes my brain does that kind of thing, evidence you edge towards native-like skills in a language: fucking up homophonous words such as mail and male, and obviously vine and vein .. they aren't even that close but my brain just go like ah yes despite knowing it's wrong and I didn't check oof but yeah.
I just hope the exotica will start like truly hanging, the same goes for the neon pothos because I really like trailing plants like that. The exotica is currently a bit too short for me to put it at the top of my bookshelf, but it'll get there I hope.
My argyraeus is honestly .. growing like hell it's SICK, I don't understand but I do enjoy that it appears to be thriving.

I'm not sure honestly, it looks very surreal with rather small leaves with fenestrations but I'm not complaining. I think it's because of the recovery thing or maybe it might be because of where the leaves grew? I don't know, but at least it isn't dying so I don't need to understand it, just accept it hahaa.

Nice to know that you are okay with it, I'll keep doing it so you see that I have replied!

Yeah, they're almost like succulents, very cool. Also them being little pancakes at the end of a long stem really gives it that alien touch.

This reminds me of this not-a-tree we had at my old house, it's this tropical tree with white flowers that smell real nice, very common, I forgot its name, anyway it was pretty much a tree, I would climb it and shit but my mum was always like "it's a bush" so I have no idea what the definition of tree or bush is. Your definition sure makes sense though, especially to a simpleton like myself.
I get that, avocados definitely have a.. Special flavour, not to mention the texture, i see why some people don't like them. I don't expect my future tree to ever bear any avocados but I just like the idea of having a fucking tree in my room. How 'I don't give a fuck' is having a tree in ones room? Like, this shit grows outside but nature is my bitch so Imma just make it work inside.
That's actually adorable, I love that too. Seeing people excited over things they love gives the most lovely feeling of pure humanity, it's great.

It's cool, I just found it kind of funny since plants have veins so I was like, is this a process I don't know of? Veining? My English kryptonite is probably possessive vs plural s, I don't know why but I have to google it every time.

I get that, my string of hearts grows like a motherfucker, it's crazy, though lately its stems ends have been getting all wrinkled and its bottom leaves have been smaller, I'm thinking it might be getting too much sun but I don't know, maybe you know something?

I'm picturing a bigger rhaphidophora tetrasperma and I love those so the idea of a slightly larger one is really cool to me. I hope it keeps growing for you~

I like that you said that the one time you didn't tag me lmao
Honestly this conversation is the highlight of my day, I was meant to go protest Bibi and his gaggle of morons but I got a minor panic attack about school so at least I'm doing something interesting now. Still wish I could've gone out and practiced my free speach or whatever, I might go next week though so it's fine.

Same, plus their foliage is very boring to me and they don't constantly bloom so most of the time it's just a few sad looking leaves. I can see where people enjoy it, the whole taking constant care of it and the anticipation for it to bloom but I couldn't be arsed.

Yeah I think they're called elefantøre in Norwegian (elephant ear) lmaao

I don't really think there is any solid definition of tree, I just.. I consider my schefflera to be a tree. I guess my dieffenbachias.. might be trees.. not now but soon lmaooooooo
Yess

Oh I think the possessive vs plural is very easy because Norwegian has possessive s as well so .. idk how that would help me but it does so it's ok lol. I struggle more with the 3sg -s of English it makes literally no sense to me and it fucks up everything. I'm just coming to terms with not having to be native-like in English because I am not native in the language and I don't think there are any English natives on this website who could write like I do in English, in Norwegian.

Hmm guess vp didn't cooperate as I did tag but maybe it removed it as it entered the departing quote thing lol. :/
Good luck, I hope things turn out for the better in the region. I know there are some hostility between us when the topic is up but I want to stress that I have issues with the current and former Israeli governments, not the notion of Israel nor the population of Israel.
