I was thinking about this actually...giving opportunities for already in game items that people really want would be so cool and would give extra incentive to log on and participate

anyone know if thats possible?

(sorry for the length of this lol) I think it's hard to get ANY game with a old premise and interface back to where it used to be, no matter how modern it gets BUT, these games also don't need 10's of thousands of people for them to be good or worthwhile, from a profit and enjoyment standpoint. Gsm has around 1000 active members, Gaiaonline has around 2-3000 active, stardoll has at least 6000 (paying members) and more un-paying and is the most modern looking of all of them.... but all of those games also had 10's of thousands and millions of users in playing per day in their prime...all that to say, they are still good games even when they fall from grace, the only thing wrong with ALL of them (not so much gaia i guess, idk) is the lack of attention from the owners to keep certain things going, modernizing or encourage proper maintenance. 

I agree that there needs to be an overhaul, starting with the efficiency of the wardrobe and shop and the mini games, should include earning a few credits at some point.   if we had a clear timeline for updates and a clear understanding of where the site is going, that would help.

vp just needs some tweaks and improvements and better marketing, and an owner who would actually care about the user base and give the teams a push, at least in terms of motivation

Honestly it wouldn't be too bad reviving some old items.
Even for the rares (now I'm mostly just thinking of the rares that has been rotting in inactive users wardrobes for years if not decades)
