There are so many other things wrong on VP that need to be changed, and a rework of the website design isn't one of them. I think they way VP looks makes it unique. This honestly feels like a wasted effort on something that wasn't asked for. Sorry not trying to slam anyone or make them feel bad, but a new website layout isn't going to bring new players and keep them here. Are there design elements that could change? Sure! And some have been brought up in this thread. I just think efforts should be better spent elsewhere.
can i ask what you would focus on? enbette has stated that none of the site upgrades we've asked for can be achieved on the way the site is currently coded (including wardrobe changes, mobile friendliness, many other features that require coding which is just about everything)

i agree that i don't want the site's theme to change by much, however updating the coding of the site is huuuuuge priority if you ask me

Personally I think the leveling up system and manager needs a big overhaul. There's currently no incentive to KEEP playing the game and thus no reason for people to be spending money, especially new players. Leveling up basically means nothing. If the code needs to be updated first, then I completely agree that should be a focus. But so far it looks like by the screenshots this includes removing a lot of the "personality" that the site has which I do not agree with.

no not weird- all of vp expressed all this last week when the thread was posted, but it has been explained that this isn't the final style or vibe for the site, it is just very early sneak peek of the basics

there's info on first page but i'll go through the thread and quote some more detailed posts..

Everything you see in the screenshot so far is just an initial draft from me. Feel free to use this channel to share your ideas, suggestions, and feedback!

One small note, though: I’d really appreciate it if we could keep everything constructive and friendly here. I’m doing all of this completely voluntarily, alongside my (often very stressful 💀)full-time job, just like the other Core members. In other words, it takes a lot of my time and effort, but I’m not getting paid for it. 💸
I’m genuinely very happy to hear your input, but I also want to emphasize that it’s incredibly difficult to accommodate everyone’s personal taste or implement every single idea, especially since all of this takes a lot of time and work. That said, we’ll all do our very best to create something that works well for everyone. ❤️

And one last thing: the colors and designs you’re seeing are all just mockups for now, and nothing is final. So please feel free to share what you like, what you think could work better, or things you’d like us to experiment with. I’m always happy to hear your thoughts!

Let’s make something great together. ✨

honestly yeah i agree i dont really see a point in full redesign  whats the point of making the site look like a phone app if theres no app in works either... vp rn looks a little rustic yeah but it doesnt look bad and theres a certain charm to it, if anything making it more 2016sque makes more sense

the main issues with vp on mobile is stuff like being unable to click quote without accidentally becoming the thread superfan by following it instead and the fact that making outfits is another layer of hell never seen before, those things cud be worked on instead of like    redesigning the entire thing

App is not in the works rn mainly because you just can't turn current vp into an app without mobile friendly and (most importantly) modern redesign (I mean not just the visual update), so once we're done with it I'll think about porting it to android ios too

Also, take for example the wardrobe - rn it's a terribly rigid container fully packed with unresponsive clothes boxes where you can't change anything in the wd system (no matter how small it is) without rewriting the whole design almost from scratch,
But it's also pointless to redesign it without the deep rework, so that's what actually happens on most of redesigned pages. (So, you know, wardrobe revamp is linked with the redesign, same goes for clothing uploader and other complex pages)

New header and pretty much everything you see on the new design is updating in realtime, we already have new clothing tooltip system (there's tooltip cache for instant display and it's not causing big wd pages to lag like current tooltips) and going from page to page is faster on new design

And uhh working with terrible legacy design like ours is making me want to kill ppl, so I'm doing this for my mental health too haha

i fully agree! i haven't unfortunately heard anything on revamping those features (at least yet) but hopefully it will be addressed at some point

i was among ppl who thought the screenshot removes the site's personality, however if i've understood correctly it's simply a "hey so we're doing this" kinda announcement image and not properly customized

but the whole thing abt them even having to consider a visual redesign is that you can't simply just port the visuals we have now since it's a completely different pot of ingredients that the coders will have to work with - hence why everything needs to be "remade"

also thank you teabag, i'll try to add those into the faq without hopefully making it too crowded adghsghfg

This project is very early on in development.
That is why everything was initially shared the way it was.
This is not something that has an end date yet, and there is absolutely no rush.
The preview shown is a very early draft, to layout general boxes, but I asked to share the mobile version because i knew the layout for the homepage was still a wip. With the mobile version you saw fewer assets and got an idea/feel for the bottom bar with the shop, bank, wd, fans icons. And the ideas we have started.

There were so many cool things in that screenshot (plus more if i had scrolled).
Please have some faith in the teams that keep this site going.
This project is for the good of vp, not for marketing purposes.
I wont let it be about money

If you are interested in the VP market, go buy some tokens.
They're great and support us. They also sell/trade very well.

Uofficially (not as core team)
I agree. I think the actual gameplay needs to be updated and core team has gotten a lot of feedback on what people want changed. But players want wardrobe upgrades, and enbette needs some sanity relief in doing that

Officially as core team rep:
We do hear the concerns ans love for "Retro" vp (name not finalized)
And have already made modifications to the design to reflect the feedback.
When we make another update, we can share all those new things

I really don't mean any offense but isn't it possible to achieve the same design with a different (and more modern) code behind it all? I have seen people rebuilt the complete look of win95 with modern code and apart from very minor differenced (eg the way you click on things) it looks exactly the same.

Nah i do think vip needs some redesign but maybe more so in terms of making it easier to navigate. Like putting more focus on bettering blog’s visibility and maybe individual creation for blogs, profile and startalk etc.

i feel like you can do whatever for the mobile version but just keep the version for desktops the same it is now and make the mobile friendly version match our aesthetic

if we had to get resigned stuff, i would do it for the art of this website and the game aspects and not the full look of it like ex mini game art and front pages. record lable art, the battle page, and recoding or reworking fashion contest

the art could be less corporate and quirky like our full website is
