Hello!

There has been some discussions today regarding the rules, and us enforcing them.
Please know that we're taking this seriously, and we are discussing it as a team!

We would like to explain a bit about why we've been more active lately with moving threads, and locking or changing certain topics.
As announced on the 3rd of March, we now have four moderators going through bootcamp. This is a new experience for us, and we're still learning the ropes. Some of this includes going through and enforcing rules that might have not been taken as seriously before.
We are now a team of five, instead of only one moderator, which leads to a more active moderation team in general. We might make some calls that you disagree with, but please know that it's nothing personal and that we're trying our best. This is an adjustment for all of us, and it will take some time to find our rhythm.

We greatly appreciate feedback from you all, and we want to have an open communication with the community. Feel free to talk to us about it in this thread, or you can send us a message!

if its because u are learning i mean surely by being an active user on vp u would have noticed that those rules have been relaxed and not enforced & if its a change you are making is there a reason behind it?

I think its quite telling when actual modding is causing more "drama" and problems on VP than whats been seen on VP for a long time (excluding like one incident with a user who was known to stir things up before they were banned), and if that is what modding the site does, then there probably needs to be a re assesment in how certain things are done.

i have stated my piece in my thread, and i hope you guys will continue to take those things in mind as this post is very overviewing and doesnt adress anything said in at all. Again this is not necesarily about the uptake in modding but how modding is done on vp in general. Nor is it entirely about making calls we disagree with, but about if those calls are at all relevant or benefitial to the site at all.

There have been various reasons for these rules to be relaxed and not enforced, most of the time it has been reasons out of our hands. Now with a new team, we finally have a proper chance to stay on track

We just went from previous modteam not doing anything and ignoring the complains to current team doing way too much in attempt to seem active, this feel more performative than anything. There has been a big problem of userbase not trusting mods caused by history of them being biased, giving TOs and warnings for stupid stuff like saying a sentence in a foreign language and protecting their members even after being accused of awful things. We want the team we can trust and respect, not the one that tries to fill the quota of locking threads

Im sorry but this is such a politician response... not replying to a post as soon as possible and actually thinking and discussing with the team might be better than dancing around the topic in a way that makes you look like you dont care

yes, like, i at least, and i assume most of us, appreciate that u guys have responded and acknowledged whats going on, but i do hope this ordeal can bring on change n consideration in time, theres no need to like super stress out responses, personally i would rather yall take time, both to not stress u out bc i know youre doing this on your free time, and to give it the actual time and effort it deserves
