david sat there for a little while with her as the both of them simply stared up at the apartment blocks. he took a deep breath and turned to her, nodding once. "all you have to do is be the magnificent woman I know. I love you, babe." he said, resting a hand on her cheek, he pressed a single kiss to her lips, before leaning back again, resting his hands in his lap. he kept himself low, out of sight as much as he could, while she went up. she was swift to go inside but maybe that was best - out of the way of anything, and so maybe that meant eric had no idea david was there. he tapped his fingertips on the wheel, humming to himself, trying to distract himself, until his phone began to flash. he quickly read the text, and as soon as he saw the word 'immediately', he got out the car, locked the doors and stormed up to the building. his heart was beating at a ridiculous beat and he could feel himself cringing at the thought of anything bad happening. he cleared his throat and strode inside, standing behind her, a hand on the small of her back as he looked straight ahead at eric. "is everything okay? i'm sure faw has explained everything." he shrugged and looked down at her, holding her close to his body.

mella smiled brightly. "well i'm hoping you'll be shirtless on the beach most of the time anyway so I don't mind what shirts you bring." she kissed his chin when he kissed her forehead, and pulled away. she carried on gathering their things, like tooth brushes, flannels, soap, those sorts of things, which he would always usually forget. it was cute how much of a hurry he would get in, which would make him totally excited yet forget everything, too. she zipped up the bag and nodded her head finally, biting her lip. "yepp, it's all done. this is gonna be great." she smiled and tied her hair up from her face, yet a load of it just came sweeping back down around her cheeks. she grabbed her set of keys and her phone, and walked down the stairs after him, and got into the car, the excitement now kicking in for her too, as she let out a small squeal. with everything he said, her grin was just getting wider, and her eyes brightening even more. what was he trying to do to her?! "oh nate, you didn't have to do all this. it's way too much.." she smiled and leaned back in her seat comfortably, humming along to the radio, stroking his hand gently with her thumb. "you've really spoilt me this time, natey. I don't deserve it!"

Fawn breathed a sigh of relief when David finally arrived. She fished to his side and slid her arm around his waist. "Y-yeah," she stuttered, her breath a bit shaky as she tried to wrap her head around what Eric had just said. "He just wants to talk to you, that's all." Before she knew it, Eric was spewing insults at David, as if all of this were his fault. She noticed Eric had his hands clenched into fists and that's when she got a bit worried. "Hey, hey, listen!" she called out, trying to get them to quit screaming at each other, "I'm the common factor here. I'm the one at fault and I'm more than happy to admit that. Now can we please get on with our lives? I'm done being treated like yesterday's trash, Eric. Leave me and my loved ones alone, I don't want to see it hear from you ever again." She smacked him across his cheek before grabbing David and running out of the building. She didn't speak until they were safely situation in his car and driving away from the apartment. "His time completely changed when you showed up," she told him, "When I first went inside he looked like he had been bawling like a baby. Thank you for helping me, I love you so much, David." She leaned over and placed a hand on his thigh before kissing the corner of his mouth and a peck on his jaw.

Nate smiled. "Anything for you, babe," he told her, "I figured since we just sat at home for our fifth anniversary - and yes, I know that was my fault - we have twice as much to celebrate for our sixth." He looked over at Mella as he drove. He was so happy to see her content and without a worry in the world. He didn't know how long she would go without these worries, but he planned on using that to his advantage. He didn't even want to remotely think about Carlos for at least the next 72 hours. He let out a laugh when she eventually started singing along with the radio to what he knew was one of her favorite songs. They arrived at the airport and parked in the parking lot. He grabbed all of their bags from his truck. He distributed their luggage between them as they went inside and checked their bigger bags. He checked his cell phone after they went through security and found that they still had a little over an hour before their flight would begin boarding. "Do you want to grab a bite to eat? Or, there's a little shopping mall down in one of the other corridors if you want to shop instead. I'm sure there will be plenty of shopping to do once we reach our destination, but if you want to save some more time to spend with your incredibly handsome hunk of a boyfriend, I won't complain." He laughed his hearty laugh and waited for her answer.

david was one to stay patient in all situations, and that was what he was doing at this moment. his arm stayed around fawn's shoulders, his eyes securely locked on eric's as he simply smirked and shook his head. every insult that was thrown his way, he simply threw one back, with twice the demeanor. that was until fawn stopped them both. he silenced immediately, her opinion being much more important to him, and her well being also. "come on, sweetheart, let's get out of this place." he glared over at eric once more before smirking, quickly grabbing her hand, he ran out of the place with her and got in is car, driving away. once at the end of the street, far away from eric's place, he stopped the car, and put his seat belt on. and then turned to her, resting his hand under her chin, he gave her a proper kiss. "everything is gonna be okay from now on. it's just me and you, darlin'. me and you." he gave her a small smile and then pulled off, heading home. "want to pick up some food on the way back?" he asked, glancing over at her.

mella gasped suddenly. she had actually forgot it was their anniversary, which explained exactly why he had gone all out on this trip. now she felt super awful - she had been too busy distracted by the blackmails of carlos to even consider what she would get him. she bit her lip and sighed, facing away from him for a moment, she looked down at her hands. "I.. I didn't realise it was our anniversary this weekend. I haven't got you anything nate.. i'm sorry." she frowned and lifted her head to look at him, shrugging. she felt terrible now, maybe he wouldn't be happy with her, it could ruin a lot. "I mean I was going to.. I had loads planned for us but.. my mind has been distracted." she sighed and got out the car, following him through with everything, left with just one carry on luggage bag. she put it over her shoulder and followed him around slowly, looking at everything. they had been here a few times now, they always went on small adventures, but every time, it always seemed to amaze her. "my hunk of a boyfriend is going to get all my attention and time." she leaned up on her tip toes, and kissed him once.

Fawn returned his kiss with an equal passion. She felt something different between them as she pressed her lips to his, but she amounted it to the fact that she had cleared a massive weight from both of their shoulders. "food sounds great, actually, I could go for a nice club sandwich at the diner." She leaned back over into her seat and held onto his hand as he drove. "Is there any chance that you can take off from work tomorrow?" she asked him. "I think we should spend the day together, go to the pool or something. I think we both deserve it, and if you can get off, what's holding us back?" She waited for his reply as they parked along the street and got out of the car. She locked her hand with his and they went inside. She was glad to find that the diner wasn't quite as full as it usually was, where they had to scream at the top of their lungs just to hear each other. The restaurant had excellent quality food and she was eager to drink one of their famous malt shakes. She sat down at a booth with him and began scanning the menu to see if any new items would change her mind on what she would want to order.

Nate placed his hands on her shoulders and let out a quick sigh. "Don't stress about it," he replied "you've had a lot on your mind lately and I don't blame you for not thinking about me every second that you've been trying to... get past all of this." When she didn't express what she wanted to do with their short amount of time to spare, he took her hand and headed off toward the large food court. "From what I understand, airplane food isn't always the best," he told her as they slid in line and grabbed a tray. He looked at all of their choices before grabbing a burger and a small bucket of fries for them to share. "Grab whatever you'd like, my treat, " he told her. When they had all of their food, he led her over to and table where they could sit down together. He punched his straw into his soda and took a long sip. "If you want, you can tell me what you had planned for us and I can see what I can pull off while we're at the resort. I've got a few tricks up my own sleeve, and from talking to the concierge at the front desk over the phone, there's a lot they don't advertise but I'm sure we could get away with."

david smiled a little as they kissed, though it felt a little empty, as if something was missing between them. he put it down to the fact that they had just come out from a very tense position. he sighed a little and carried on driving down the the small diner which he knew they both loved. it was something that reminded them of comfort and happiness - plus it was where he had first seen her. it wasn't where they had first met, that was a different story. but on a cold night several years back, he had held the door open for her and that was it. he couldn't forget her for life. he went in with her, lacing their fingers together, and luckily enough, their seat next to the window, in the corner was available. there were able to stare out across the road, at a small little chocolate hotel, that served the best desserts. maybe one day he would take her there, and let her try all the puddings. maybe that would be something she'd be interested in. she ordered himself a smokin' rib rack with fries and a thick vanilla milkshake, along with her choice of meal. he went back and sat with her. "should be around 15 minutes at the most." he smiled, holding her hand gently.

mella nodded slowly as she held his hands. "i'll i'll make it up to you when we're there, promise. uhm. in any way you want me to." she smiled slightly and rested a hand on the back of his neck and kissed him softly. she was too busy feeling so guilty that she didn't even give him an answer, and soon he was simply whisking her away, sometimes, that's just what she wanted. she didn't always want to be completely innocent, she slowly wanted to become more dependent on him, too. he meant a lot more than he realised and she truly loved him with her entire heart, body and soul. she smiled and followed him through to the food court, grabbing herself some chicken wings, and a can of cola, seeing as he had already got the fries for them to share. she went and sat down with him, crossing her legs at her ankles,s he tucked into her food for a fair while, before lifting her eyes back up to look at him again, smiling. "well I really just wanna spend my time checking out the place. where is it we're going again? I don't think i've heard of it before." she shrugged and smiled. "maybe i'll check out the spa rooms, get a full body massage." she smiled, tucking her hair behind her ears. "and a lot of swimming, too."

Fawn grinned as he sat back down with her, grateful that he had ordered for her. "Great, that gives us fifteen minutes to talk," she said with a small smile. The diner was one of her favorite places to go with him. She loved the memories that came along with the atmosphere, which made him even more important to her. "I think we need to discuss our future a little bit. I mean, I know we just overcame this huge obstacle and everything, but that's over with now. I want to know where you think we're headed after this. Not that it's exactly up to them, but I know our parents are starting to wonder, you know ... when we're going to start a family." She rubbed her hands over his in an attempt to calm both him and herself. She kind of hated herself for bringing such a big,  important topic up in this manner but it would have to be addressed eventually, right? Whether they were in the diner or yelling through the shower curtain at five in the morning. All that she had been going through lately really made her think about how she wanted to spend the rest of her life, and as much as she had done with Eric, she knew she was with David for the long run.

Nate munched on some of his food and took a sip of his drink. "Lots of swimming sounds great," he commented,  a wicked grin growing on his face, "especially night swimming under the moonlight. Just the two of us." He sat back from his food for a minute to just look at her. He didn't really get a chance to do that as often as he would have liked, considering they were always on the move. "It's been too long since I last told you how beautiful you are," he said, smiling once again. He tried to stifle a laugh as her face flushed. "What? You act like I've never said that before!" he added with a chuckle, noticing how she kept glancing around to see if anyone else was looking at them. They finished their meal and he checked the time on his phone. "Alright, I guess we should get going," he concluded, rising from his seat and gathering their trash onto his tray. He left the table to throw everything away and then came back to get Mella. "Ready to go?" he asked, locking his hand with hers again and steering them toward the correct terminal. "Can you think of anything else that we need to get before we board the plane?" he asked her.

david shrugged off his suit jacket. he always felt way too formal in his suit, though it was what as necessary at work plus he had to admit he did look good in it. the grey trousers he was wearing made his butt look phenomenal, and fawn would always comment on it, which made him rather happy. he reached over the table, holding her hands in his as he looked around at all the neon lit signs, that advertised just a few of the things available, like their ice creams, and famous milkshakes. he lifted his eyes back to hers when she began speaking again and gave her a small smile, though inside it felt as if his heart was beating a million times a second. she was bringing up the future, which absolutely petrified him. who was to know that they would actually stay together for that long? of course he wanted to stay with her for that long but what if eric once again appeared in their life? she was easily swayed by him and the mere thought of that was bad enough. he didn't know if he wanted children, or if he wanted to get married ever. "I uhm.. i'm really not sure fawn, if i'm honest. why, have you been thinking about it?" he raised an eyebrow as he looked at her, a rather serious hint in his eyes. had she been dreaming of a perfect fairy tale wedding, and a family too?

mela ate her wings, her fingers becoming sticky with smokin' barbecue sauce. she shook her head and licked it off in the most discreet way she could, lifting her head when she caught him watching her. her cheeks flushed red, hearing the words spill from his mouth, a stupid grin spreading onto his lips. "it's just not something you tell me everyday, like 'honey we need more milk' or 'mella, you've left the back door unlocked'. it's just a shock when you say it, is all." she grinned like a cheshire cat, finishing off her fries. she wiped around her mouth and then stood up when he come back, after throwing their trash away, and took his hand, following his footsteps. he was the leader of the relationship, and that was clear, even though they were two very independent people separately. she laced their fingers together and followed him through the airport, towards the terminal. "nope, i'm pretty sure i've got everything in my bag." she lifted her arm up, indicating to her bag, before following him. she was more excited than ever now, the holiday feeling finally kicking into her system. she gave his hand a small squeeze, going through all the checks and norms of boarding a plane, until finally they were sat in their first class seats. plenty pf leg room, a small tv to watch and champagne on ice.

Fawn shrugged her shoulders, hoping to lighten the mood a little bit. She hoped that she hadn't intimidated him, which didn't happen often. She looked down at their hands for a second as she thought about how to explain it all to him. She fiddled with the sleeve of his dress shirt, distracting herself from the conversation. "I just feel like I... I don't know," she started hesitantly, a bit unsure of it all. "For some odd reason, I feel that I need to prove my love for you, because after all of this that's what you deserve the most." She pursed her lips as she looked up and into his eyes. "I was never one of the girls that had her wedding planned out from age seven and I didn't realize until I got with you how much I would love to have children. We've never really discussed all of this with each other, at least not like this anyway. I don't want to dive into this not knowing what you want. Even though I would be the one to carry the child, your opinion is without a doubt as important as mine." She chewed at her lip, wondering what he was thinking about. They sat in silence for a few moments before a waitress came over to their table, announcing that their order would take a little longer to make than they had anticipated because one of the milkshake machines were down.

Nate sat down beside Mella on the plane. Realizing how luxurious their seats were, he was glad that he had opted to fly first class. He knew Mella would be in love with the idea, and it was his first time also, as his job would only ever pay for coach seats. "I hear that the water in the ocean is crystal clear. The guy on the phone offered to send me a snorkeling brochure and I rejected the offer, but now I wish I wouldn't have." He hoped that she would be willing to do some sight seeing and other tourist-y things once they arrived. He hadn't planned on spending the weekend cooped up in their hotel room, and he certainly hadn't payed to do just that. Not long after they settled down in their seats, the flight took off. Their flight would take a little over four hours, and they decided to go ahead and open the champagne right away. Nate opened the bottle and poured two glasses. "To our six year anniversary," he said as he extended his glass over to her, offering a toast. They tapped their glasses together and then took a sip. "Wow," he commented, taking another swig, "this is excellent." He held her hand as they flew through the sky. He looked over at her, watching as she glanced out the window and was delighted by all of the sights of the island.

david kept their hands together at all times. although he was confused about their situation, and how he felt, he wanted to ensure that she knew he would always be there, that of course he loved her regardless. he gave her hands a squeeze, leaning over the table a little closer to her so that the conversation stayed private. "fawn, babe, you never have to prove yourself to me. don't be silly I know you love me, and I love you too, little one." he ran his thumb along her knuckles. "but I just need you to know that me marrying you, or us suddenly having a child, it's not going to make me sure that we will stay as ever in love. it might just strain our relationship. it's not that I don't ever want it to happen but we both have such chaotic lives." he shrugged. but he was slowly coming up with a couple of ideas in his head. maybe, just maybe, if he made her think he was against the idea of marriage, a proposal would be the biggest shock of all. the more they were speaking it, the more he wanted to settle down with her, start a wonderful family. "listen, whatever happens, it's going to be fine. if you get pregnant then so be it, i'm not going to leave you to be on your own, what kind of guy would that make me?"

mella was completely in her zone now. the plane had taken off and they were around the clouds, her hand in nate's, as she let out a satisfied sigh, turning her head towards him eventually. she took in all of his features - from the top of his nose that rounded perfectly, to the little scar in the bottom left corner of his chin, from when he used to play sport in high school. just every single little thing about him, she was so glad she knew. she blushed just a tad when he caught her staring and quickly looked away, but gave his hand a small squeeze. "we can still go snorkeling in the open. I kinda know my stuff so, it won't be too shabby. we can just get some rental suits or something." she sipped her champagne with the hand that wasn't holding his hand, her smile turning into a grin. too long it had been, since she had drank so leisurely, and not because carlos had practically forced it down her throat. "I hope there will be a nice little couple of shopping boutiques there, you can normally find some lovely jewelry and things in small little beach coasts." she shrugged, turning back to him. she smiled and laced their fingers together, clinking her glass against his. "to us." she kissed his cheek, and down his jawline, to his chin, and then his lips.
