Melody's face was stained with mascara streaks as she pretty much ran to Brian's house. He had no idea she was going, all he knew was that she had been out with Mick, her no ex boyfriend, on a date. They'd gone to an Italian restaurant that she liked but never had enough money to buy so much as a glass of sparkling water from. He bough the food and drinks, she'd gotten dressed up and so had he, but it had all been ruined. He didn't want to break her, he wanted to keep her safe, he had said. But she was far from safe when she was alone. She dragged her hand through her hair as she jogged around the corner that led to Brian's road.
Sam was laying on his sofa in a pair of pajama trousers watching films on Netflix while he messed around on his laptop. A part of him was angry with his best friend. She'd gone after a guy tons older than her and everyone had been really horrible to her about it, but he was jealous really. He hadn't said anything but out of everyone, he had the biggest reason. He was so jealous that he should have had 'I REALLY LIKE MY BEST FRIEND BUT SHE'S DATING SOMEONE BETTER AND OLDER THAN ME' on his forehead. But that would've given the game away.
