He was running a towel around the inside of a glass, giving it a quick wipe before placing it back with the other ones. Thankfully, the crowd had died down and he was only left with Elspeth, whirling a drink in her hand. Why she was here so early, he wasn't sure. He didn't care enough to ask though. "Make sure you don't drink too much before you're shift. Apparently the big guys doing a check today and the last thing he'd want is a drunk person running the bar. Free drinks all round." He was referring to the last kid who worked there, who literally gave out free rounds to anyone and everyone because he'd had a bit too much himself. TJ had been the one to fire him. He raised an eyebrow at her and went back to wiping the glasses.

Freya was stood at the pool, looking down at it with a puzzled expression on her face. Her arms were crossed against her chest and her hip was stuck out. She was completely stunned at how her dad had refused to listen about the pool. He failed to see how redecorating would help with funds. Yes, it would burn a huge hole in his pocket but he would easily get it back. He'd told her she had no idea about business but he failed to remember that she'd been surrounded by it her whole life and knew how it worked. Well, she thought she did. She raised her chin a little up to the sun and immediately her posture changed to one a lot more relaxed. It was a really pretty day and she reminded her to relax. Enjoy it. Not many people got to live in a hotel for free and pretty much, in her opinion, run it.

See you later maybe?" She said before she picked her tray up and went to see if anyone else wanted a drink or something. She couldn't wait to get off, she just wanted to relax for a little bit.

Chase laid back on his sun lounger, sighing a little. He wanted to do something fun but his friends were all still in bed since they had decided to get shit faced the night before. He walked up to the bar and ordered a drink, thinking he might as well start the day off well. Once he had his drink her walked to the pool and sat on the edge, dipping his feet in. He sipped his drink and grinned, feeling a bit happier already.

Sam rested the book down on his lap whilst he reached into his backpack again to pull out a bottle of water. He kept his eyes on it as if he were reading it, but looked up briefly and saw Kendra. As bad as it sounded, the real reason he sat by the pool so much was in hope of someone falling in for his own amusement.

"I'm sure I can handle it" Elspeth replied, before drinking the last of it and putting it down on the bar. It wasn't really unusual for her to be doing it. She loved the hotel but hated working as a barmaid, so I guess cheaper drinks was the only good thing she got out of it. She ran a hand through her hair and stood up, smoothing out her tshirt. "How long are you on til?" She asked, looking at him.

Ben nodded lightly. "Tell me about it," he said with a slight smile. He looked across to see the other lifeguard who was going to relieve him approaching. He glanced back at the pool before doing a double-take, spotting Kendra behind him, stood with a cigarette between her lips. "What the-" he got down from the chair, nodding at the other lifeguard lightly. "Kendra?" He called, heading towards her. He was only a few feet away when she looked up, and he stared at her, completely dumbfounded. It'd been at least three years since he'd last seen her. "You're here?"

Kendra gave up and clenched her jaw slightly before relaxing it, slipping the cigarette behind her ear. She looked up upon hearing her name being called and her expression faltered for a moment before she smiled. "Benji!" She exclaimed, crossing the distance between them and wrapping her arms around his neck and hugging him gently. "Just thought I'd, I don't know, drop by and catch up. It's been a while." She stepped back and looked at him, running her fingers through her hair softly, somewhat nervous but completely calm on the outside.

He'd been paid a ton extra so he was pretty pleased to do it. He finished cleaning the last glass and placed it back, swinging the towel over his shoulder. He picked up his cap from the back counter and placed it on his head, backwards. The sun on his head usually gave him a headache, although he'd never admit this was the reason he had it on. Clearly it was for fashion purposes. He heard the exclamation of Kendra and he looked up, watching as they embraced. Maybe a girlfriend Ben had kept quiet about? They didn't seem to resemble each other.

Freya was snapped out of her small reverie when she heard Ben and Kendra, a few feet behind her. She opened her eyes and glanced over her shoulder toward them. Her eyebrow raised a little before she faced forward again. She didn't think anything of it, although her eyes quickly looked back around to have another look at Ben. She'd never paid any attention to him and yet, he was pretty cute. He had the whole 'swimmers body' going on. The corners of her lips turned down slightly, almost impressed, as she turned back around to face the pool, her mind instantly switching to her dad. If she could just get him to listen to her reasons....

She shrugged, it was non of her business so she gave out her last drink and then thanked her boss who told her she could go. She walked out to the pool again and slipped out of her skirt and pulled her top off so she was just in her bikini. She grabbed her bag and say down, pulling out her favourite book. She glanced back over at Ben and the girl, biting her lip a little. She had always quite liked Ben but had never spoken to him to much.

Chase looked around and smirked a little as he saw a cute girl. He smiled until he saw her hug some lifeguard guy. He looked away and slipped into the pool, leaving his drink on the side of the pool. Chase was bored, he didn't know what to do but swim around a bit. Maybe things would get better later on but for now he would just see what happened and relax.

She raised her eyebrow, she'd never seen her before, but she didn't really think that much of it. It was slightly surprising, though. "She's new. Ben got a girlfriend?" she asked, turning her head back round to TJ. She was aware that he wasn't really much for chit chat, but heyho.

He didn't elaborate, merely giving her name and then asking TJ if he could get a pint of whatever was on draft.

Kendra's eyes flicked from Ben to the pair curiously, well aware he'd left the fact that she was his sister out. Well, that bubble was going to be burst. "Hi." She said, smiling briefly at the two. "I'm Benj's sister." She said. "Can I get a couple of shots of vodka?" She asked, before removing the cigarette from behind her ear. "And... a lighter if either of you has one to hand?" She mused, resting against the bar slightly.

He brought it down from the shelf and took out several shot glasses, moving the bottle along them as he poured it out.

Freya retrieved a packet of cigarettes from her bag and took one out, along with a lighter, placing it between her lips. A year back she'd never dreamed of doing it where her father could possibly see but she'd learnt to push boundaries. She walked over to the loungers and took a seat on the end of one beside Sam. Cupping her hand around the end of it, she sparked it up and inhaled on the end. She glanced over her shoulder toward the door leading out here, seeing through to the lobby of the hotel. She was hoping to catch sight of her father and she appeared anxious and fidgety because of it. She took it out her mouth as she exhaled, slipping the pack and the lighter back into her bag. He probably wouldn't even show. She was used to being disappointed with him anyway.

Elspeth smiled at the two as they came over. "Hi there." She looked Kendra up and down, and felt slightly surprised when she said she was Ben's sister. She couldn't really see a resemblance and she couldn't ever remember Ben bringing her up, but she chose not to ask. When Kendra asked about the lighter, she reached into the back pocket of her shorts, pulled one out and held it out to her, smiling.

Kendra watched TJ retrieve the glasses, before turning her attention to Elspeth. "Thanks." She said with a soft smile, before glancing at Becky. "Hi." She said, propping the cigarette between her lips and lighting it. She handed the lighter back to Elspeth whilst inhaling, before taking it from lips and holding it between her fore- and middle finger. She inhaled softly and then exhaled, listening to the conversation around her.

He wasn't sure what he was waiting for but he knew there was something. A small crease had developed between his brows as he watched her but he looked away when he realized, his eyes moving over to Ben instead. The fact he didn't introduce her as his sister and had never mentioned her prior was something to be addressed later on. Here and now he knew it would be rude and pushy and that sort of thing made him angry.

Freya heard Sam but her mind was too far away to actually make out his exact words. She blinked several times as she looked at him, not even sure if it were her he was speaking to. She looked around her quickly and then raised her eyebrows, as his eyes stayed firmly on her. "Sorry, excuse me?" Her head suddenly became flustered as she wondered if she had something on her face, her hand instinctively moving up to run across her cheek.

Elspeth took the lighter and slid it back into her pocket and sat on the edge of the bar stool. She seemed to get a slightly irked vibe from Ben, which did confuse her, but again, she chose not to ask. She was interested, but purely because she was nosey and liked to know everything that was going on. Whatever was going on there wasn't really of any relevance to her. "So, Kendra, what brings you here?" She asked, smiling.

She listened to the question and flicked her eyes at Ben for a moment with amusement glittering in her eyes, before looking back at Elspeth. "I've not seen Benji for a while. I've been travelling the last couple of years and thought I'd head through here to see him on my way. I take it he hasn't mentioned me?" She asked, though the answer was obvious.

"Kendra." Ben murmured, looking across at her for a moment and meeting her gaze, not exactly frowning, but not looking particularly happy either. He looked away again, and in a flash, like nothing had happened, he turned to Elspeth. "What are your plans for the rest of the day?" He asked, as if she hadn't asked Kendra a question at all. Him butting in was his way of severing the communication between them, not wanting Kendra to interfere with his work life. The quicker he could get her out of here, the better. He glanced at TJ after asking Elspeth the question, giving him the sign that he was happy with him joining the conversation too. His body was angled, with Kendra more or less at his back, making it obvious he didn't want her there.
