Damon was away to reply to Winnie, but the elderly lady did it for him. She must know what is coming. "I'll catch up wth you, don't worry." once she had left the room he advanced towards the elderly lady, lifting his head. His face loiled hollow, his cheekbones more prominent and his eyes black. "I am truly sorry." he said to the lady, his eyes tracing across her fragile body. "you have a close bond with Winnie..." He paused, it was rare he spoke with those about to die. But he felt like this was a different situation. "I can tell you now, I'm here to look out for her. Not do harm." he swallowed. Rubbing his hands together as he stood in front of Kat, "but it is your time to go. And I cannot change that." he reached out his hand to her, "take my hand Kat."

Robyn felt an aching pain fill her chest just after she had completed the compulsion, a pain that reminded her she hadn't had lunch yet. But she swallowed hard, stood strong and resisted all temptations. Once the lady gave her a bag for the dress she creeped back up on Kirk. "Now that would look amazing on you" she said, nodding her head to the navy blazer. "And don't worry about budget. Lets just say... Your shopping spree is on the store Because I put in a good word or two about you" she hovered close to him, knowing that if her resistance snapped he would have to be the one to stop her. None of these humans would manage it. They were so weak and almost pointless.

Winnie hurried through the shopping centre before arriving outside of Topshop. It was a busy place, alot of mortals moving about but she spotted the two of them straight away. Their energies were alot brighter than the rest and it was easier to pinpoint. As she moved her way through the crowd, she realized she may have been interrupting something between the two. Was there something going on here that she didn't know about? She'd have to consult Robyn later on. "What was it you wanted?" she asked Robyn who looked at with mild confusion. To make herself clearer, she decided to repeat the question, "Damon said you texted there was an emergency and you needed my help?" she prompted her with a raised eyebrow. But suddenly she realized that it had all just been a hoax that in reality Robyn had no emergency and that something bad was going to happen. All of a sudden, she felt a sharp pain in her righthand side as she fell to her knees, gasping in pain. Damon. Kat. Death, the pictures swirled in her vision as her body began to convulse on the tiled floor in the middle of a packed shop. ~ ~ ~ Kirk looked over as she came to his side, giving him some advice on the clothes he was looking at, "You think?" he asked her, biting his lip slightly as he looked back at the blazer, wondering if she was only saying that so he would buy something. With a roll of his eyes, he looked back to see Robyn was alot close than she had been before. Maybe the impact of all the humans around her was affecting her more thna she let on, "Don't you lie, I have the ears of a dog. You used compulsion missy," he said to her, tapping her gently on the nose. Just at that moment Winnie appeared looking extremely flustered as she directed her words to Robyn. The next moment she was on the floor acting like she was having a fit. His eyes widened as he looked from her to Robyn, "What do we do?! he asked her panickedly. Nothing like this had happened before, he didn't know what to do.

The reaping only took a matter of seconds but the power from Kats spirit ran through his body, causing him to collapse. It felt like his internal organs were on fire. This lady had power, her soul was fuelled with it. Finally he managed to open his eyes, they were no longer dark. He was out of breath, but his body felt stronger than ever. Kats spirit and soul had fed his powers, which was not what he had wanted this to be about. For once, he wished he wasn't a reaper. "if Winnie finds out I had to do this.. She is never going to forgive me" he sighed, brushing himself off and leaving the store.

Robyn nodded her head, "I do think. And I kinda know fashion" she smiled at him, getting lost for a moment in his eyes. Did he always look this attractive? Or was it the way the lighting was. but she completely snapped out of her thoughts when she saw Winnie. Her face giving off a pretty confused look, "what do you mean Winnie..?" But before she knew it her friend was on the ground. "Oh my god!" She said, collapsing beside her, "Winnie! Winnie are you okay? Can you hear me?!" She was beginning to really freak out, she had no idea how to respond to something like thIs. "Kirk what do we do?! jesus, Winnie it's going to be okay!"

And suddenly it was all over, Winnie sat bolt upright as she opened her eyes, her body still shaking. Her eyes moved from Robyn who looked positively terrified towards Kirk who looked concerned but was looking around to make sure nobody else had noticed the commotion. "Grandma Kat," she whispered, shaking her head as she struggled to get to her feet. It couldn't be true, it had to be fake. That had to be some sort of trick. On shaky legs, she made her way from the shop only to be met with the grave face of Damon and she knew it was true. At that moment she couldn't help herself as she burst into tears, "What did you do?" she cried to him as she shook her head, "Tell me you didn't," as she tentatively took a step close to Damon, hoping that it was a massive misunderstanding and the elder was still in the safety of her shop. ~~~ Kirk looked on worriedly as Winnie continued to take her fit but he kept an eye on everybody around them too. There were only a few people who were giving them weird looks, everybody else seemed to be minding their on buisness which was good because he didn't feel like having to snarl to make them look away. But all of a sudden, Winnie was on her feet and travelling towards the door. With a concerned look at Robyn they both followed her out to see what the commotion was about, "What was that?" he whispered to Robyn as they stood just outside the shop, watching as she approached Damon. He could hear everything she was saying and he could bet that Robyn could too, they were both cued in to the conversation.

When Damon saw the way Winnie looked at him he felt his heart break. She knew, he had tried so hard to keep it hidden from her but it all failed. "Winnie.. She knew it was her time." he swallowed deeply, looking around for some way of explaining. "It's what I'm on earth to do, if I didn't do it they would send someone else. Someone that would be heartless. That would hurt her." he swallowed hard, glancing over at Robyn and Kirk who seemed to be watching on. He touched Winnie's shoulder, "she wasn't afraid of death and I made it painless for her. I channeled it all through my body so that she could get the send off she deserves."

Robyn jumped back when Winnie suddenly stopped. Swearing faintly under her breath. She pushed herself up onto her feet as Winnie walked out to someone that looked like Damon. Before following, she quickly compelled the few that witnessed that to forget the events before running out to join Kirk. The pair of them listened, but she stood close to him. Her hand grazing against his. It was comforting in a way, but when she felt his skin against hers she moved away ever so slightly. Worried he may think she was being too forward. But all the compulsion had worked her up an appetite.

Winnie couldn't bear to look at him so instead she directed her gaze to the side as a silent tear dripped from her eye and slid slowly down her cheek. She knew he was right, that any other reaper would have made it painful, made death seem unwelcoming. But she knew deep down that Grandma Kat had never been afraid of death, she was always the one trying to reassure Winnie that death wasn't evil. It was simply the gateway to another life. "It wasn't her time," she whispered a her bottom lip quivered and she felt her limbs go a little shaky as she crumpled to the floor for the second time today. "She had so much more to teach me, so much more to give. You were wrong, it wasn't her time," Winnie said inbetween sobs as she cried into her hands. She'd just lost the only real family she'd ever known so she allowed herself to have this one emotional breakdown. ~ ~ ~ Kirk bit his lip as he listened to the conversation, Damon had taken the soul of one of the witches Winnie knew. Maybe respected and looked up to? He wasn't sure but one thing was obvious, she was distraught. Robyn's hand brushed against his own slightly before she moved away but her pulled on her fingers with his own, feeling comforted by the simple touch from another being at this point. "I can't watch this," he said with a shake of his head to Robyn. It was too painful to see Winnie, the usually calm one of the group break down in the middle of a public area. He was a little more worried for Robyn however as she seemed more lethargic than usual after her burst of compulsion back there. It took alot of energy, he knew that.

Damon sunk to the floor, pulling her against his chest. Holding her in some sort of embrace. "The time is never right for a loved one to go." he ran his fingers against her shoulder lightly in a soothing manner. He was doing this to be caring to her, to protect her from the judging world that surrounded them. She shouldn't need to go through this, not here. "Winnie I'll drive you home, you need to grieve properly. Away from the prying eyes of humans." he moved back from her slightly, wiping away a tear that had fallen down her cheek. "You aren't alone. I made A promise to her. One I will not break."

Robyn felt a wave of sadness. Winnie right now reminded her of herself. When she lost her parents in the car crash. It was horrific. A memory she tried so hard to suppress. The feeling of Kirks fingers against hers brought her back down to earth. "Let's go somewhere quiet.." She whispered, wondering down an alley way, holding onto kirks hand. She felt herself losing control of her emotions due to her low blood supply. "Kirk, how much do you like...?" Her eyes meeting his in a rather serious moment.

Winnie shook her head as he claimed she wasn't alone and that he was there to share the burden of her pain. But all she could focus on was that he was the last one to see her. He never even let her say goodbye. But now she realised that she couldn't grieve, not now, not here. "I have no time to grieve, I need to inform the coven of today's events," she said, pushing herself away from Damon's embrace as she rose to her feet. Being this close to him was making her feel physically sick at the moment, his energy was stronger than ever and she could sense some of her own kind mixed in there. "Don't follow me, I'll be at the shop for a while sorting everything out. Round up everybody else and take them home, I'll be there as soon as I can," she told him, her voice still weak as she wiped under her eyes with shaky hands. The bag of necessities was still lying on the floor and she picked it up before walking away from the situation behind her. Her change of attitude was abrupt, yes, but she realised that grieving would not being Kat back, no instead this experience would make her stronger it would make her realise that nothing was permanent and to never trust reapers. --- Kirk nodded as he allowed Robyn to lead him away from the emotional scene. Seeing Winnie cry was too much, it was a first for them all and he really was not comfortable with it. Robyn's words brought him back as he looked down at her, "How much do I like what?" he asked her as he took a good look at her. The compulsion had taken a lot more out of her than he first realised. Her grip was weak, her palms sweaty and she looked extremely tired. "Jeez Ro, don't faint on me please. You should've said you needed to feed!" he exclaimed as he let go of her hand and rolled up his shirt sleeve, revealing his wrist. He wouldn't normally do this, let a vampire feed from him, but he would much rather lose a pint of blood than to have Robyn faint on him. "I'm your meal for the next five minutes as long as you can get past the dog stench," he teased her lightly as he held out his wrist to her.

Robyn's eyes followed Kirks arm, his veins practically calling for her. "I.. " she couldn't seem to get the words out, "thank you" she said quietly. Wrapping her fingers around his arm she let her fangs come out to play. Biting into his wrist as softly as possibly, not wanting to hurt him. It was unheard of for a vampire to feed on a werewolf, but as soon as his blood entered her mouth she couldn't see why. It had to be the most delicious taste she had ever had; which was going to make it that much harder to stop. Her hands tightening around his arm, holding his wrist harder against her mouth. She wasnt sure if she could stop.

Damon couldn't really argue with Winnie, he owed her at this point. "We will wait for you at the car..." He said, watching her walk off in some direction. He took a few moments to collect himself before heading off in the general direction of the other two. But when he found him, he didn't expect to see Robyn feeding off of Kirk, "what the f..." but he noticed she was getting out of control so wrapped his arm around her stomach and pulled her off of Kirk. "Umm.. Winnie asked me to get you both and regroup at the car soon.."

Winnie walked quickly but her emotions seemed to take control and all of a sudden she was instantly in the shop. Her emotions tended to control her magic and when she was upset, it went haywire. As she took a shaky breath she walked towards the desk in dusty shop. Grandma Kat wouldn't be there, she knew that but this had been the last place she was alive. It was almost haunted. Shaking ehr head to get the thought away, she closed her eyes concentrating on a single message, "Meet at Kat's," before she reopened her eyes and there was a group of around twenty witches standing before her. Some older and wiser, others younger. "Winnie, child, what's wrong?" one of the other elders came over towards her with a concerned look on her face. "Didn't you feel it? Grandma Kat, she's passed," she said in a grave voice as the wailing of many of the girls was almost too hard to bear. They were just as heartbroken as she was. ~ ~ ~ One minute there was pain as her fangs sunk in and then the next .. bliss. Like he was walking on clouds, his ehad up in the sky. He felt like he could achieve anything and everything. It was a wonderful feeling. This must be why so many humans were dedicated to being feeders because of the high they received. But all of a sudden it was all over and she was pulled away from him. All at once his senses came back to him as he began to feel a little lightheaded and woozy. He held a hand to his forehead as he tried not to stagger, letting out a weak laugh, "I take it I didn't taste like dog?" he asked, as he wiped off the remaining blood on his jeans, wincing as the denim grazed the cut.

Robyn pulled away from Damons grasp, snarling at him for a split second before looking back at Kirk. She licked her lips clean, then wiped with the back of her hand so she knew all the blood was gone. "Taste better than you look I suppose.." she said with a little smirk on her lips, before turning back round to look at Damon. "thanks.." she said faintly to him. She wasn't a fan of giving him any form of satisfaction. She looked back at Kirk, looking at his opened wound, she remembered the plasters in her bag. Quickly raking through the small black bag, she managed to locate the plaster. "here." she said, putting it on before he could stop her. "That'll help."

Damon watched the pair of them, he had never experienced the bite of a vampire but he had heard it was intense and glorious. Like a high without the nasty chemicals, but just as lethal. Or maybe even more so. Once the pair of them had cleaned themselves up, they walked side by side to the car. "I'm sure Winnie will be fine, she is a strong young lady." he ran  a hand through his hair, losing himself in thought. Once the group was at the car he sent her a message; Hey, we are at the car when you are ready.

Kirk couldn't help but to grin as she placed the plaster on his wrist, "Always patching me up, eh?" he asked her with a laugh as they began to walk back towards the car just behind Damon. He seemed to be talking to himself, reassuring that Winnie would be fine after what he'd just done. How he could live with himself at this moment Kirk didn't know, but he was awful glad he wasn't a reaper. "So what exactly happened?" he asked Damon directly when they reached the car, an eyebrow raised. He thought he knew the majority of it but wanted to make sure that he knew exactly what had happened before making any judgments. All they knew at this point was Winnie was extremely upset because she'd lost someone dear to her. Who that person was, he wasn't sure, "Do you think tonight will still be on?" he asked them both, a frown etching upon his face as he wondered if it would. ~ ~ ~ "Enough, girls. Please," one of the elders said in a loud, commanding voice to the women who were still sniffling. Winnie stood off just to the side, "The get together tonight will still be happening, only it will be in honor of Kat. So when you're there, keep her in your thoughts and keep the memory of her alive. What she will have wanted was for you to remember her the way she was, not to dwell on her death," she told them all, her voice a little softer as Winnie quickly wiped at her eyes before a tear could fall. The meeting was adjourned and they all began to leave, apart from a few of the elders who promised Winnie they would take care of everything. It had only lasted about half an hour before she was on her way back to the car, where everybody was standing outside. Silently she opened the door and climbed into the passenger seat, turning on the engine before everybody was in the car.

Damon looked at Kirk, at first he didn't want to tell him what had happened. But he deserved to understand the situation fully, as did Robyn. "Her elder, Kat, had ran out of time on this earth." he looked at the pair of them, with almost an expressionless face. "and I was the closest reaper. It is my duty to take the dying to the other side. Perhaps it will be, although they may just be sadder" he stopped talking about it when he saw Winnie approaching, just out of respect. He could tell she had been crying more, but what could he expect? She had lost someone dear and close to her. Any normal person would be devastated at this point in time. He climbed into the back of the car, sitting in the same seat he had previously.

Robyn rolled her eyes at Kirk, "oh be grateful I gave you it, maybe I'll kiss the boo-boo better." she walked to the car with the others, listening quietly to Damon talking. His life seemed far too complicated as a reaper, she was thankful that her rules were pretty simple - drink blood, party, pretend to be human for as long as possible. When Winnie approached the car she smiled a little at her, trying to be comforting. Climbing into the back of the car, putting her topshop bag on the floor. Without Kirk knowing, she had picked up the blazer he had been looking. Mainly because she knew he didn't have time to get it because of all the drama. Hopefully it would brighten up the situation.

Kirk raised his eyebrows suggestively when Robyn suggested that she kiss it better. Now that was something he could live with. As he listened to the story, he nodded, knowing it would've been something along those lines. But it was the fact it was one of Winnie's elders, were they not really important? As she came back, Kirk climbed into the passenger side of the car as he looked over at her. She didn't look good at all. He could see her shaking from here and she was holding onto the steering wheel so tight, as if it were keeping her upright. "Winnie," he said softly, trying to get her attention, "Winnie, do you want me to drive?" he asked, watching as he nodded before they switched places and he got them on the road back home. He felt a little safer now he was behind the wheel. ~ ~ ~ Winnie held onto the steering wheel of the car so tight that her knuckles were going a little white as she waited everybody to get inside the car. She reached down to change gears and again her hands were shaking, she tried to take a deep breath to get some air into her lungs but found she couldn't. At Kirk's words she looked over and nodded slightly before unbuckling her seat belt and climbing from the car. She never let anybody drive her car but she couldn't really focus on anything at this point in time so it was better to let someone else take the controls. She got into the passenger side of the car as she pulled her legs up onto the chair, "Tonight is still on," she said in a small voice as she looked out of the window almost absentmindedly as her eyes glistened with tears. "But we ask you wear something white out of respect," she said her voice cracking at the end of the sentence.

Robyn watched as the pair switched positions, she would have offered to drive but she hadn't touched the wheel since the crash. It was a life changing event for her, put her off driving for the rest of her eternal existence. "We can do that Winnie." she smiled, not putting up an argument. Although white was something she despised, she would do it for her friend. Last thing she wanted was to upset her further. The rest of the journey was filled with silence but when they finally arrived home she felt slight relief. Climbing out of the car quickly and unlocking the front door, stepping inside of the house.

Damon didn't say much in response to Winnie's statement, he knew that every witch there would look at him as the reason she was gone. Although it wasn't that simple. Kat's body had been failing her, something she hid from the rest. If she had lived any longer, she wouldn't have been able to leave her chair. It was the awful truth about the human body and how quickly it can suddenly fail you. But life was fragile, something that should be clung too and enjoyed. He had learned that much. "thanks for driving Kirk." he said before getting out the car, waiting for Robyn to open up the apartment before heading inside.
