Wait, what is he doing? Abigail thought, as Jacob suddenly raised his hand, and said something, (he probably quoted someone, but she had no idea who), about a padawan. Who is Padawan? Wait, is it even a person? What is a padawan? She made quick note to herself, about searching that up when she got home. Abigail laughed anyway, pretending to get the joke. She felt more stupid than he had looked, that was for sure. "Jacob Brewer," she then repeated, "idiot with a watermelon. Think I got it."

Jacob decided to just ignore the whole padawan-incident or he would most likely faint from embarrassment right there. It would’ve been cool if she got the reference, though, he thought. «Yup. That’s me,» he said. «Wanna go to the next exhibit, or?» He looked at her, trying to read what she was thinking.

Abigail looked down for a second, embarrased that she hadn't gotten his reference. She had kind of ruined the moment, hadn't she? "Next exhibition sounds great," she answered, now looking up again, smiling as one would. "Let's go?"

Jacob gave her a smile as he confirmed: «Let’s go.» After that they walked to the flower exhibition. It was basically a lot of painters who painted flowers: realistically or however they chose to interpet how a flower could look. Almost an hour had passed, just the two of them gaping at the paintings. He hadn’t checked the time and realized that he now would be a bit late. Oh well. «It was really nice to meet you, but I got to go now.»

Abigail was so engrossed in the many artworks surrounding her, that she didn't notice time passing by. In fact, it felt like no time had passed by, when Jacob all of a sudden said he had to leave. "Oh," Abigail answered, tearing her glance away from the painting in front of her. "Well, it was nice to meet you too. Maybe I'll see you around." Now that they were both aware they went to the same school, the probability of them meeting each other again, wouldn't be too low.

«Maybe,» Jacob said, a clever smile on his lips, taking a step closer since they were kinda far away from each other. «Looking forward to it,» he added, having started to turn away. «Bye, babe,» he said while he was walking away, bringing back the girlfriend-boyfriend joke. He didn’t realize that he was still smiling when he walked away. The subway passed by every five minutes here, so he’d probably make it in time.

Funny type, Abigail thought to herself, still smiling as they both said their goodbyes. She gave him a descreet wave. He walked away, but she remained still, wondering whether there was anything else to see around here. She could always come back, she figured, and therefore decided to head back to her small dormroom. Abigail somehow felt like she'd had enough art for one day, as if that was somehow possible.

~*Tuesday, September 4th 2018*~

A few days had passed since Jacob's life clashed with Abigail's. Not much had happened after that, though. She had sent a request on Facebook, Jacob had accepted it. But had he dared to actually make contact again? Nope. Still, he had during the first monday after meeting her catched himself searching for her as he walked through campus or through the different buildings. But he had seen no sign of her. Yet.

It was lunch time, and a lot of students had gathered in the cafeteria, all in the search of some food. Jacob was next in line, and had his eyes on a gorgeous looking serrano ham sandwich.

It hadn't taken too long before Abigail had dared to send Jacob a friend request on Facebook. He'd answered yes, luckily. She'd figured she could've just avoided him if he'd answered no. Not that she'd believed he would, or had wanted him to, for that matter. They hadn't met each other since the first time, though Abigail found herself wanting to hang out with him again. Perhaps he's busy with his studies, she'd thought. That wouldn't be too much of a surprise. Besides, could she really expect him to just contact her out of the blue?

Abigail was seated amongst a couple of new friends, around one of the many round tables filling up the inside of cafeteria. They were all chattering, though Abigail was more focused on eating the delicous ceasar salad standing on the table in front of her. It felt like she'd gone an eternity since she'd last eaten anything, and she could no longer remember when her stomach had first started growling. She was, in short, very hungry.

As soon as he could reach it, Jacob grabbed the sandwich, and put it in front of the cafeteria lady. He gave her a smile and a «thank you!» after having paid with his card. Then he walked away from the line and searched for a place to sit. His friends were sitting at a table somewhere in that room, it was just a matter of finding then. While holding his sandwich, Jacob started his search.

Abigail shoved another fork of salad into her mouth, savouring the delicious combination of chicken, lettuce, croutons and dressing. Definitely a good purchase, she thought to herself. She didn't say much as she ate, but rather listened to what her new friends were talking about. Boyfriends, and in some cases girlfriends, seemed to be the topic of today's conversation. And everyone seemed to have something to say about it. Whether they had left someone after high school, were together with someone at the moment, or currently looking for someone. "What about you, Abigail?" one of the girls asked, Nina was her name,if she remembered correctly. They'd just recently met. Abigail shook her head in response, covering her mouth with her hand while swallowing her food, as if preparing to say something.

As Jacob was maneuvering himself through the cafeteria, he saw a familiar face sitting by a table. It was Abigail, and he felt like saying something fun, so of course he ended up blurting out: "Hey girlfriend," he said, giving Abigail a wink and a smile as he passed the table. That joke would never die.

Abigail opened her mouth to say something, as if to confirm what she had just shook her head in answer to. But she didn't get to say anything, was rather interrupted by a familiar figure passing by. "Hey girlfriend." Oh, she should've known. Abigail wanted to say something back, to continue the joke, but Jacob was gone again, as soon as he'd first appeared. "You said you didn't have a boyfriend!" Nina exclaimed. Oh boy..

Jacob actually giggled as he left the scene. "You said you didn't have a boyfriend!" had one of her friends said. Boy I hope I didn't embarrass her too much, he thought. She seemed like a girl who could manage, though. In the very corner of the cafeteria he spotted his small group of friends. It had become their favorite table, but they weren't always in time to catch it. But apparently this day, they were. "JAKEYYY!" Ted exclaimed as he saw me. "T-DOG!" I laughed, putting down my plate before hugging him. We hadn't been able to see each other during the first week, so the reunion was genuine bromance. "What are your plans for saturday?" he asked. "Nineteen! I can't believe you're getting that old!"

"I don't have a boyfriend," Abigail tried to explain, looking up at the many confused faces, looking at her from around the table. "But he called you his girlfriend" Nina then continued, only to have Abigail sigh to herself, while sliding further down in her chair. "Yes, but it's a joke," she explained. Why couldn't Nina just get it? "We met the other day, and someone thought we were a couple, and, well.. I'll explain later.." She somehow didn't feel like telling the whole story now. At least not while she was eating.
