wesley nodded his head as he saw the telling sign from adam. he had to be the one to do this, even if he wasn't exactly so good any more. he smiled at her, getting up from the sofa, rubbing his hands together. "the thing is poppy, you really shouldn't be here. all of us, this town, it's inhumane. we're creatures, things you only hear about in stories." he rubbed the back of his neck. "me, for example. i'm a fallen angel." he wasn't quite prepared to explain what both serenity and adam were.

Adam stood back, he let the other two talk. He knew someone like Poppy would not accept what he was. The abomination that he was. Killer of her kind. That's all she would see him as. She wouldn't want to tell him about vegetables, or her vegan recipes. She would assume he was some form of pervert. So he just stood there, ashamed. But when he saw Wesley's 'wings' he made 'o' shape with his mouth, before realising it was Serenity who had made them appear.

wesley smiled thankfully at serenity, but then pushed them away, so it seemed as if he folded them back in. it upset him, the memories of when he used to have that ability. the scars along his back tingled as he glanced at adam for a moment, before back at poppy. "us three, we aren't killers. serenity here, she's a witch. but she does good things. just like changing the tv channels, and washing the dishes, and adam here.." he was cut off by poppy abruptly staring at adam, asking "what are you?"

Serenity smiled at Wesley, hoping she hadn't upset him too much by what she did. But hearing Adam's voice from the back of the room made her feel almost sorry for him. "you aren't a killer Adam.." but his head shake denied it. She turned back to Poppy, "he isn't as bad as you think, I can promise you that."

wesley heard adam and sighed. this was a make or break situation. but he knew as soon as they left the four walls of their home, the three of them instantly had to be protectors for poppy. not all creatures were as nice and welcoming as them, in fact many species despised humans for almost no reason at all. "we promise you none of us will hurt you. we're civilised beings who want nothing more than to be you're friend, if that's okay with you."

Serenity took a deep breath in and released. "we just want to be your friend." she said, once Wesley and Adam had finished. She was glad that Poppy hadn't fainted or ran out screaming, infact she had been so calm about it all. Moving towards the front door, Serenity picked up her black Jeffrey Campbell lita's that were covered in spikes and slipped them onto her dainty feet. Thus, making her taller, but not taller then either of the males in the house.

wesley smiled at adam, proud of him. he'd never seen him like this before. wesley knew him as a manipulative individual, someone who got what they wanted on a regular basis and didn't show mercy towards anyone else. he must have had plans for poppy. "we'll meet you by the car, mate." he grabbed his wallet and headed out towards the car they all shared. it was a black mercedes, a part of the sports range, top class. he unlocked it and got in. he loved driving this beast.

Adam felt thoughts rushing through his head, she wasn't afraid. Now the big question was if that was good or bad. He made a point of making everyone around him afraid of him, even Serenity and sometimes Wesley. But now, he had just promised a stranger he would never hurt them. He used his sassy vampire speed to go upstairs, get his wallet, downstairs, lock door and into the car within a matter of seconds.

"I have no idea what you're trying to suggest, serenity, because my driving is top class and there is nothing more magnificent." he winked as he pulled out from the drive, and headed down the main roads towards the town centre. one hand rested on the gear stick, the other on the steering wheel. "so, folks, are we looking for anything in particular? I want to pick up some food while we're here, i'm starving!"

Adam looked at Poppy, and gave her a small smile. He lowered his voice so the other two couldn't hear him, "thank you, for accepting me." he looked towards the front of the car, "well I need to get something to wear.. what does one wear to a club? some black skinny jeans? If I can even pull them off. Oh. On that note, my third cousin, several times removed, is getting married tomorrow. I was thinking we could all go to the ceremony and after party. Means you could get to know the nicer people in town Poppy, make some friends."

poppy listened to them all, and smiled. she found it amazing, how three people who were seemingly so different could get on so well. she was glad that she had been so lucky. "I need to buy some clothes for clubbing, too. I don't own a single pair of high heels." she said, smiling slightly. she turned back to adam and nodded slowly. "your family won't hate me, will they? because i'm human and stuff.." she frowned, feeling rather shy about the whole idea. adam was nice enough, but could she risk being around a whole cult of them?

Women, he thought. "Well, my cousin is like a big cuddly bear, I mean he's a vampire but he's marrying a fairy. So her side will love you, fairies love humans. The rest of my family are strict in their ways but the majority are strict vegetarians. Apart from my older brother. But I don't even think he's invited. So, they will love you."

poppy felt a little embarrassed at the way serenity acted. "i'm a size six." she glanced at her feet before back at serenity, shrugging her shoulders. "they're uncomfortable and impractical, they just slow me down." she wiggled her toes that were in her converse, and smiled up at adam. "well as long as you're sure, but if it will be too much for them I can just stay at home or something, I really don't mind." she walked with the rest of them, to where all the shops were, trying not to stare at all the fascinating beings.

Deep, deep, deep down she is a loving person." he chuckled, stepping out the car and walking along side Poppy, making sure to keep an eye on the people around them. "well I'm positive, so you are pretty much stuck with coming, if you want too or not." he smiled. Looking back at Adam, "you'll break Serenity's heart if you talk like that."

poppy shrugged casually, pulling the sleeves of her checked shirt over her hands. "yeah, I kinda realised. she's very outgoing." she had soon began to realise that her and serenity were very different people. she followed them in, keeping her head down as they headed into a shop. she really had no idea what she was looking for. just a simple small dress? "okay then, thank you for inviting me. it sounds like fun." she tucked some hair behind her ear, and went wandering off to look at some clothes.
