Amelia hastily wiped underneath her eyes as she took the ticket from the man, her lips turning up slightly at the edges when he asked, “Are you alright ma’am?” At least somebody cared about her, even if it was an employee at the train station. “I-I guess I’ll just miss this place," she told him, with a nod as she thanked him again before taking the handle of her suitcase and pulling it towards the correct train. She was finally getting away, these were the moments she’d dreamed of for so long and now they were finally happening. Never again would she have to see Derek’s face, never again feel the pain of his words or the sharp stinging of his palm. Just the thought of him, however, made her look over her shoulder to make sure he wasn’t lingering behind, ready to leap out and grab her. The train seemed to be making the last call for passengers and she lifted her suitcase onto the train as she climbed on, picking out a seat at the window. She set her handbag down on the unoccupied table and then tried to lift her heavy suitcase onto the railing above. Although she’d packed quickly, she’d also not travelled lightly as she didn’t know when she’d be back so she had wanted to take everything with her. ~ Steven sat on the train, a cup of black coffee in his hand as he took a sip from the steaming cup. This was where he belonged, travelling, not stuck in some office. The job he’d recently quit from had been a regular 9-5 job, with a desk, a phone and a nice little planted pot. But it was so boring, so unfulfilling. He knew that travelling had always been what he had wanted to do with his life and now he was taking action. After he quit his job, he’d packed up his things and caught a taxi to the train station, bought the first ticket to an unknown place and was now sitting on the train. A taping sound caught his attention and he looked across the carriage, his eyes landing on a young woman, “Anxious to leave?” he asked, noting the way she kept glancing out the window every five seconds, tell-tale signs that she wouldn’t be peaceful until the train was far, far away from the station.
