Kim was late for work as always and was jogging as fast as she could with the coffee cup in her hand. She was mumbling swear words while almost sprinting on the pavement. The traffic was awful in New York, so she could not take the bus and the subway was stuck so it would also be a disaster. Kim was late for her first day at BuzzFeed, not a good look to say it or a good first impression. She had been looking for an internship for months after she moved to the NY from London. It was a big difference from where she started to the even bigger city. Also, everything for her was bigger, greater and a lot cleaner than in London. She missed London at times because it was where she grew up, everything she knew was there. Still, this was her big chance to break free and make her name big, make a living out of her creative side. Kim knew she had a clock on her wrist but that would just make everything worst. After a run that seemed like forever she was inside the BuzzFeed headquarters, and there she stood in the lobby, all alone and staring blankly because this was big and very scary for her. After some minutes of just standing and watching people go in and out, she then moved over to the reception. Since she knew that she was supposed to meet some, but who she did not remember.
Alex was sitting at his desk, writing down ideas for new videos. He was on a roll with many viral videos, and he was proud. At the opposite desk sat Alania and he looked over at her and said, "Wanna help me with a video for this week?" A smiled emerged on his face and he started telling her about the idea. He felt that he and Alania worked well together because she was one of the reasons his videos went viral at all. His opinion was that they complimented each other well and that was what he was looking for in a good partner. The left hand picked up the tea cup when he finished talking and he watched how Alania reacted to his idea because body language said it all. It was important to understand the crowd and how people would view the different videos or photographs. Alex was proud of his work because that was what he made money off. Also, after his videos had started going viral he had gotten a lot of different job offers. Many he had turned down to because they did not fit him, but also because it felt wrong to leave BuzzFeed the one job in the world that kept in alive. So he did some freelance jobs in between everything else he had going on in his little world.
Micah realized that he had once again managed to zone out from reality. He quickly glanced up at the tired, old clock that was hanging on the just as old wall. He was still quite new at his job, therefore they had placed him in one of the smaller, older rooms. There was only one other person in the room at the moment. The other ones were probably swinging by sometime later. Micah looked up at the clock once again, and quickly stood up from his chair. On his way up he managed to drag a bunch of notes and paper sheets with him, but the thought of cleaning up never crossed his mind. He had completely forgotten about the new intern he was supposed to meet with today. Another big, ironic plus about being the relatively new guy. When everyone else was busy he got to drop everything and show people around, even though he managed to get lost in the big building on some occasions. Micah ran down the stairs, there was no time to wait for an elevator. He saw a girl looking slightly lost standing at the reception, slowed down his pace. ''You must be the new Intern'' He said, somewhat breathless. ''Kimberly, right?''
