Sorry it took so long, my freaking power at my house went out for a few hours! I hope I don't have school tomorrow, wind chill is expected to be -20 or below :/
I'm going to try and keep these a little short, and they may not always be quite this long either since it's only the first post. So many of my other roleplays want super long replies and then by the time I get to the others I'm exhausted. Let me know if this is an issue!

Gemma pranced around in the kitchen of the home that she used to share with Louis. She had the radio playing some music but was careful to be quiet because her daughter, Molly, was asleep in her bedroom down the hall. She went over to the stove and stirred the pot of spaghetti noodles that she had been trying to boil for the past half hour - she was never much of a cook; she loved when Louis was home and he could bake a turkey in the oven and prepare a feast worthy of Thanksgiving at the snap of a finger. She was always a little bit jealous that most skills came so easily to him; not only was he an incredible Major General, but he also knew how to play a variety of sports, had mastered the art of the piano, and was excellent with kids. He would have made a wonderful father, had he lived to see their daughter. Gemma frowned as she considered the thought. The memory of that dreadful phone call was still fresh in her mind even though it had been over three years ago. She sat the wooden spoon back down on the counter and jumped when the phone rang. Hoping to eliminate the noise so that Molly wouldn't wake up, she ran over to the receiver and she picked up the phone. "Hello?" she answered quietly, wrapping her finger around the telephone cord. She listened for a brief moment before she discovered that it was one of her best friends, canceling the plans that they had made for that evening. Both Gemma and her friend were single mothers and they often spent nights switching on and off so that one friend would babysit both kids while the other could go out and get some shopping done or simply have a night at home alone. She was about to chat with her friend about when they could reschedule when her doorbell rang. She said her goodbye and ran to the door, not expecting anyone to drop by. She opened the door and her jaw dropped - could this really be happening? It was Louis, alive and in the flesh!
Reed cleared his throat as he climbed out of his car and grabbed the bouquet of flowers from the passenger's seat. He locked his car doors behind him and began the short walk to Carly's house. He had parked a little ways down the street in hopes of surprising her at her doorstep. Having eventually been rescued from the jungle that his plane had crashed in, he spent a while in the hospital and rehab to help get him back into shape. He was known for his occasional bout of PTSD and didn't want it to affect his life anymore than what they could control. When he had finally arrived back in their home town about a month ago, he spent a while searching for Carly. He went to the house that they used to live in together and was sad to find it occupied by another family. He spent roughly a week searching high or low for her but eventually decided to stop by her favorite diner in town that she used to visit regularly. He asked around inside and was able to find someone that was friends with Carly and helped point him in the right direction. His heart was running a mile a minute as he made his way to Carly's home. What was he going to say to her? He had tried to prepare a speech but was always unsuccessful, usually breaking down halfway through speaking his thoughts because he had just missed her so much. He finally made it to her doorstep and grinned widely when he saw a car in the driveway - she had to be home! He knocked on the door and waited anxiously, palms sweating worse than they ever had before. When the door finally pulled open, tears welled up in his eyes. It was her, after all this time. Her hair was a lighter shade than he remembered but it was still stick-straight and full of volume. Her blouse and skirt looked lovely on her petite frame and his heart ached when he saw the expression on her face. After all that had happened, she was still able to recognize him. He couldn't have been any happier.
