 ReportDepression Isn't Cool
I get very sick of the glamorization of depression and other mental illnesses on this website.

I do understand it in a way. People here are typically young. When I was young I absolutely glamorized my depression, but really I isolated myself and ruined my life in many ways. I'm trying so hard now to be a well-adjusted person. When you're a teen it's almost cool to be sad. Many of you will regret that as you age like I did.

I mean I don't think VP is that bad when it comes to glorification off stuff like this, at least not compared to how it is on other sites/media, and I feel like people, in general, are getting more aware that glorification of mental illness isn't like super good, but it also might just be me growing up and realizing it myself haha. Can't say I'm the most observant person

It's nothing new. Think back to Ophelia. I can think of certain forms of media I liked as a teen that glamorized mental illness surely. If it's not being glamorized as the ideal, it's being exploited for entertainment. I just notice it happens a lot on the VP forums. I know it's out of hand on Tumblr. lmfao.
I brought it up about VP on VP specifically since I use this site. Obviously I'm not putting an end to anything; I'm just making an observation.
