Jennifer Lawrence Makes Herself The Target On 'SNL'

If there's one thing viewers learned from the latest episode of "Saturday Night Live," it's that Jennifer lawrencesure doesn't mind poking fun at herself. As the host for the evening, the "Silver Linings Playbook" actress took multiple opportunities to make light of recent news headlines as well as "the Hunger games" franchise.

Fresh off her Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical win at the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, Lawrence started strong with her opening monologue, which made fun of what some thought was a dis toward meryl strep during her ceremony acceptance speech. "I would never trash talk any of my fellow nominees at the Golden Globes, but the Oscars are another story," she said with sass, before throwing jabs (and closing praise) at her fellow Oscar nominees, even including 9-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis. "You think you can beat me? Whatchu talkin' bout, Wallis? Also, the alphabet called. They want their letters back," she told the audience. Much like the real Tommy Lee Jones during last Sunday's award show, an impersonator in the crowd kept a poker face, at least for most of her jokes.

When Lawrence wasn't playing a wannabe New York lesbian bandmate or a contestant on a canine version Top Chef, she kept the self-targeted jokes coming, particularly during a skit where she reprised her "Hunger Games" role as Katniss Everdeen for a news conference only a short 10 minutes following Everdeen's win in the film.

Sitting alongside a lookalike Games' character, the District 12 warriors were bombarded with a series of silly questions like "What the hell kind of name is Katniss Everdeen?" and "Have you been using performance enhancement drugs?" But one of the best questions came from a reporter (naive to the annual tournament's concept), who asked: "Did you have a chance to speak with any of the other competitors after the game?" Exchanging confused looks with her male tribute, Everdeen replied, "They're all dead...That's how the 'Hunger Games' work."

Lawrence hit another high note during her cameo in "SNL"'s trailer film parody of "The Hobbit" and its never-ending sequels. In "Hobbit 10: The Elf Queen Tries To Pick An Outfit," Lawrence appears as the elf queen with long blonde hair and contemplates which white dress she should wear. "We are going to be so late," says one hobbit, to which she barks back, "No we aren't!"

As the Luminers teased with MTV news in rehearsals, the 2013 Grammy-nominated band continued their PR momentum with a performance of smash "Ho Hey." While it wasn't the confetti-filled party like in the song's video, the fivesome appeared to have just as much fun during the number. Before a red-lit set, the group chanted the feel-good tune as a few of the bandmates hopped and pranced beside each other. Returning to the Studio 8H stage just a few skits later, the folk-rock group performed their second single "Stubborn Love." As the sounds of guitars, drums and the cello filled the stage, the band wailed the movie soundtrack-ready tune and was met with roar of applause.

"SNL" went old-school, and we mean 1860s old-school as Lawrence ended her hosting duties with a skit about two lovers exchanging letters during the Civil War era. Despite the amount of eloquence and tender love that dripped from her character's writing, her fiancé's vapid responses included a photo of his genitals.

"Gregory, we are through," she says in a final letter. "Harold Thompson has returned honorably from battle. I have accepted his proposal of marriage and burned the photograph you sent of your genitals with the inscription: now you."

And now from Jennifer to the oscars nominations is:

Chloe Grace Moretz Dyed Her Hair?

Chloe Moretz Hair
First off, major props to Chloe grace morets : girl has some serious selfie skills, as evidenced by the pair of snaps above. I mean, just LOOK! She's got the identical poses, downward glance, opened mouth, and even hand placement (check those index fingers!) happening here...talk about technique. Both of the photos were taken during hair color changeups only a few weeks apart, when the actress decided to switch up her honey-blonde 'do for something sliiiightly different. She posted her picture on the left on December 17, saying "New color! What do you guys think? " then hit the salon yet again today, posting a shot with the caption "New hair color!!! #yes." Obviously the Aeropostale ambassador and all-around style star looks great in both pictures, but we admit— we can't tell TOO much of a difference between the two...can you?

Now let's go to Katyperry:
Katy Perry performs at the Kids' Inaugural Concert on Saturday

Katy Perry Brings Pop Perfection To Kids' Inaugural Concert

WASHINGTON, D.C. — There haven't been squeals like this in our nation's capital since the passage of House Resolution 6354, which recognized One Direction as the hottest boy band in the whole entireworld. On Saturday night (January 19), the tweens and teens of America showed up in full force (and full throat) at the Kids' Inaugural Concert, a super-charged pop extravaganza packed with big-name stars.

Headlined by Katy Perry and featuring sets from Usher, Mindless Behavior and stars from "Glee" — not to mention dancers, T-shirt tossers and racing mascots — the Kids' Inaugural was definitely a spectacle. But it also served a higher purpose: to show military families a good time.

Which is why, though both Michelle Obama and Jill Biden (and, of course, first daughters Sasha and Malia) were seated front-row, the focus was definitely on the men and women of our Armed Forces and their children. Each act took time out of their set to salute their sacrifice and service, though each also focused on their main objective: to entertain.

Usher found himself in the unusual position of opening act for the night, but that didn't stop him from pulling out all the stops. He powered through hits like "Yeah!" "Without You" and "O.M.G.," packing the stage with acrobatic dancers and displaying the kind of smooth moves that have become his calling card (said moves were replicated by several young attendees in the aisles, to adorable effect).

Far East Movement and Mindless Behavior both shook and slid through sets of electro-tinged pop and R&B — Mindless were ridiculously sharp with their matching suits and synchronized steps — and the action never let up for an instant, thanks to host Nick Cannon's effervescent energy and a pair of stages, which insured there was always something to watch. And in the rare instance when there wasn't, the in-house DJ kept things moving by blasting hits from Beyoncé, The Wanted, Justin Bieber and Pitbull.

Eva Longoria and Chelsea Clinton kick off Inauguration Weekend in support of the National Day of Service.

And while everyone who took the stage received their fair share of squeals (the kids love Michelle Obama, BTW, and let her know when she delivered a speech that paid tribute to military families), they saved their biggest screams for Katy Perry, who took the stage in a red-white-and-blue romper (with matching jacket, which she'd eventually peel off) and strutted through a series of her smashes — "Teenage Dream," "Part of Me," "Wide Awake". — each of which had the crowd singing along with aplomb.

Perry sprinted across both stages, shouted out four more years of the Obama administration and even managed a quick wardrobe change before closing the night with a rousing version of "Firework," which nearly lifted the roof off the Washington Convention Center.

And then, the show was over, and though some of the younger attendees had to be carried out on their parents' shoulders, there were still plenty who bounded out into the night with energy to spare. And why wouldn't they? This was a party in their honor, and it was a pretty excellent one at that.
