and what do you mean 'no position to be offended'? you don't know who struggles with gender or mental illness, who is the judge of who is allowed to feel offended?

someone here who was offended by it spoke about trans people and mentally ill people in third person
so????? ur not obliged to put a disclaimer that ur mentally ill/trans to be a part of the discussion. thats none of other peoples business unless the person voluntarily makes it their business

it adds an important part to your position on something, for example, a white person can of course have an opinion on racism, but  will never have the same insight as a black person.

eee yea I'm gonna go ahead and say it's harmful to call your mental illness a gender.

as long as they themselves do have said mental illness i think it's okay?
no i think that it's not for them. i mean it doesnt hurt anyone else, but its a profound misunderstanding of what 'gender' is.

gender is identity, right? it's not good to consider you mental illness as identity, one should always work toward managing their symptoms. mental illness is not gender and if you think your mental illness is gender, maybe you're not going to get the help that you need.
^ gender is a big part of you. Its one of your trademarks, it even kinda decides who you are as a person. You ARE x gender. You can BE a female but you cannot BE autism. You can HAVE autism but you can't BE it.
Thats why its actually harmful.

sure but u assumed that claire just wasnt mentally ill, even though she never said anything about being mentally ill or not. u gonna assume that everyone in a conversation about racism is white unless they give a disclaimer like IM BLACK BTW!!!!! and throw it in their face????

i personally don't see gender as an important part of my identity tbh, if it would be possible in my country i would left the gap in documents and my papers blank
