instagram removing likes

Yea but comparing yourself to others picture is honestly common no matter what, but removing likes is removing a big part of the insecurity and obsession. I really see it is a good move imo. 
if some people get insecure over the amount of likes they get on an instagram post, i think they need to do a re-thinker.those insecure people shouldnt' have an affect on the ENTIRE ig app. if you get insecure about being on social media, you really sshouldnt be there. cant take the heat, dont be in the kitchen kinda deal

i am not a fan of the idea that for the sake of the minority, the majority gets to suffer

People can still like, but only the person who posted can see the total of likes. It's not like they are removing it all together just not making it visible. You can still see the likes on your end.
I think this honestly is an okay compromise to have. 
U can see what people like and maybe what u can post more of, but u wont be influenced by comparing urself to others

i didn’t even know people looked at other people’s likes 
I always look more at followers, but idk why because like 95% of people's followers are just ghosts. let's say you have 60k followers but only 1-3k regularly interact with you.

yeah you see that share button that's on vp? means facebook most likely has access to your digital information on this site and tracks your movements.

how exactly does the majority suffer from not seeing that 12 people liked whatever bullshit they posted? i fail to see the issue here. furthermore, how is this even remotely close to communism? i think  you have misunderstood the fundamental idea behind communism, which is what is best for the entire society is what should be triumphant, not "let's do something that benefits this marginal group because we have decided they alone are more important than the community". honestly, if whoever owns instagram has decided that it is for the greater good, i.e. what's best for the entire user-base, that's good. mental health should be taken seriously.
